CAD Technician / Modeler

Location: New Jersey

STV is seeking an experienced CAD Technician / Modeler to join our New Jersey transportation team. In this role, you will support major highway and bridge infrastructure projects by creating high-quality drawings and 3D models using Bentley and BIM technologies. You will collaborate with engineers, designers, and project teams to develop deliverables that meet client standards and project requirements.

What You'll Do

• Create and develop construction drawings and 3D models using established CAD/BIM standards and client requirements.
• Prepare transportation design deliverables, including plans, profiles, sections, details, and exhibits.
• Coordinate CAD and BIM information with multidisciplinary project teams.
• Identify and resolve drawing and modeling issues with minimal supervision.
• Manage multiple assignments while meeting project schedules and deadlines.
• Ensure compliance with client standards, workflows, and software environments.
• Support the production of accurate and high-quality project documentation.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree in Drafting & Design or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of transportation drafting and/or modeling experience.
• Strong experience with:
  • MicroStation
  • Bentley modeling tools
  • Revit
  • CAD/BIM standards and workflows
  • Plan, detail, and presentation development
• Ability to work independently and efficiently solve technical challenges.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience working within project-specific CAD/BIM environments and software workspaces.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting projects for:
  • New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT)
  • New Jersey Turnpike Authority (NJTA)
  • NJ Transit
  • Other major transportation agencies
• Proficiency with:
  • AutoCAD
  • MicroStation
  • Bentley OpenRoads
  • Bentley OpenBridge
  • Bentley OpenRail
• Bentley software certifications are a plus.
