An exciting opportunity is available for a Business Modelling & Pricing (BM&P) Manager to join our team in Rolls-Royce Defence.
Business Modelling & Pricing Managers play a key role in the Defence business, with accountabilities across all phases of the product life cycle. The ability to leverage maximum value on Defence contracts underpins the success of the business.
You will work with engine programme and cross-functional teams to understand and improve cost, cash and margins for both existing contracts and new contract campaigns.
This is a people manager role, with responsibility for managing and coaching employees on a day-to-day basis, as well as introducing and maintaining measures and metrics to define and track the capability of the BM&P team.
What you will be doing:
- Strategy – Cost & Price – Recommend price and cost strategies to the Engine Programme teams for all pricing activities, including developing business models to inform profitability and scenario planning.
- Work collaboratively with engine programme and cross-functional teams to understand and improve cost, cash and margins across existing contracts and new contract campaigns.
- Cost Modelling – Create and own cost models capable of supporting business decisions and internal and external audit, while ensuring compliance with key regulatory reporting requirements.
- Pricing – Take responsibility for producing all prices and supporting audits. Act as the first point of contact for internal and external customers and partners to ensure costs and prices are fully understood whilst ensuring Rolls-Royce’s competitive position.
- Implement and maintain pricing standards and disciplines to support audit compliance.
- Cost Management & Reduction – Establish a cost management and review process across programmes to identify margin improvement opportunities for the wider business.
- Manage and coach employees on a day-to-day basis.
- Introduce and maintain measures and metrics to define and track the capability of the BM&P team.
Position Qualifications
- Strong understanding of Defence Aerospace and/or Naval industry products and contracts, with the commercial awareness to understand their impact on cost, pricing, cash, margin and profitability.
- Strong analytical capability, with the ability to interpret complex cost and financial information and translate this into clear business insight and recommendations.
- Broad business and commercial awareness, with the capability to understand and improve cost, cash and margins across existing contracts and new contract campaigns.
- Relevant business experience with the ability to apply this knowledge to support Business Modelling & Pricing decision-making.
- Experience of developing, interpreting and/or using cost and business models to support pricing activities, profitability assessment and scenario planning.
- Ability and appetite to inform and lead business strategy, including recommending cost and pricing strategies to programme teams.
- Ability to interact, communicate and influence effectively at all levels across the organisation, including senior management.
- Leadership capability, with the ability to manage, coach and develop employees and build the capability of the BM&P team.
Preferred Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Experience in business, finance, logistics, project management and/or commercial contracts.
- Previous experience working within Aerospace or Naval environments.
- Experience of internal and/or external audit and regulatory reporting requirements.
