Job Summary

The Business Development Specialist drives agent and agency growth through recruitment, relationship development, business development initiatives, product education, and technology adoption. This role cultivates strategic agency relationships, identifies opportunities to increase product engagement and penetration, and drives adoption of tools and resources that create new business opportunities. The Specialist serves as a trusted business partner to priority agencies, helping them expand capabilities, improve performance, and capitalize on opportunities across the company’s product portfolio.

Job Description

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and facilitate training, webinars, and educational programs that increase agent/agency recruitment, agent knowledge, engagement, and utilization of company products, technology, and resources, including Medicare, Life, Ancillary, CRM, and emerging technologies.
  • Drive adoption and utilization of CRM, Sunfire, and other agent-facing technologies to increase engagement, productivity, and opportunities for expanded product penetration.
  • Provide technology education and consultative guidance that increases agent proficiency and demonstrates the business value of available platforms.
  • Identify barriers to technology adoption and business growth and collaborate with internal teams to develop solutions that improve agent engagement and business outcomes.
  • Develop and execute timely, relevant agent communications, including newsletters, email campaigns, product announcements, training communications, and other business communications.
  • Partner with internal leaders to translate product updates, business priorities, and market opportunities into clear and actionable communications for agents and agencies.
  • Leverage agent and agency insights to identify market opportunities, adoption trends, and strategies that support business growth.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Product, Technology, Operations, and other teams to execute initiatives that drive agent engagement, product adoption, and business development.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma; additional education preferred.
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn, navigate, and effectively utilize CRM and other technology platforms.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and execute effectively in a cross-functional environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships, influence adoption, and identify business opportunities.
  • Insurance industry experience, particularly Medicare, Life, or Ancillary products, preferred.
