This is a unique opportunity for a qualified Engineer or Senior Technician who combines strong commercial acumen with deep technical expertise. You will be responsible for identifying, developing and securing complex service, overhaul, retrofit and upgrade opportunities while acting as the technical authority throughout the sales cycle.

Working with key customers across oil & gas, industrial processing, mining and refrigeration sectors, you will engage directly with engineering, operations and reliability teams to develop tailored solutions that improve asset performance, reliability and lifecycle value.

The successful candidate will be a qualified Mechanical or Chemical Engineer, or Senior Refrigeration Technician with a minimum of two years' relevant industry experience and strong knowledge of gas compression systems.  Experience with Frick and/or Sabroe compressor technologies will be highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities to achieve designated sales targets.

  • Manage and maintain the Salesforce (SFDC) pipeline in line with business expectations.

  • Lead the identification, development and sale of gas compressor rebuild, overhaul, retrofit and upgrade opportunities.

  • Act as the technical authority throughout the sales process, developing engineered solutions and advising customers on best-practice asset management strategies.

  • Engage directly with customer engineering, reliability and operations teams to identify technical challenges and convert opportunities into funded projects.

  • Provide expert guidance on compressor performance, maintenance strategies, overhaul planning, asset integrity and lifecycle management.

  • Coordinate support from APAC Product Specialists and OEM partners for complex applications, including Mycom compressor commissioning and rebuild projects.

  • Identify and generate spare parts, overhaul and upgrade opportunities based on asset condition and reliability assessment reports.

  • Advise customers on preventative maintenance programmes and long-term asset reliability strategies.

  • Collaborate closely with the Australia and New Zealand Business Development teams to support new equipment sales and convert maintenance opportunities into long-term service agreements.

  • Identify and recommend end-of-life Quantum and Unisab control system upgrade opportunities.

  • Identify and propose refrigeration package upgrade opportunities, including RWB to RWFII/RXFII conversions.

  • Support commissioning activities, major breakdown responses and complex customer projects requiring specialist technical expertise.

  • Provide leadership and direction to internal teams and contractors to ensure customer solutions are delivered safely and effectively.

  • Review project performance and provide technical and commercial insights to senior management.

  • Ensure compliance with all Quality Assurance (QA), Occupational Health, Safety and Environment (OHS&E) and company standards.

  • Proactively identify opportunities for continuous improvement, operational efficiencies and customer-focused solutions.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Essential

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering, or demonstrated competency in the industry.

  • Minimum 2 years' relevant experience in gas compression systems, industrial refrigeration, rotating equipment or a related process industry.

  • Strong technical knowledge of compressor technologies, thermodynamics, refrigeration systems and rotating equipment.

  • Demonstrated success in business development, technical sales, applications engineering or solution development.

  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to develop opportunities from concept through to contract award.

  • Excellent written, proposal development, presentation and communication skills.

  • Proven ability to build trusted relationships with customers and influence technical and commercial stakeholders.

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.

  • A commitment to frontline safety leadership and proactive risk management.

Highly Regarded

  • Experience with Frick and/or Sabroe compressor systems.

  • Experience with Mycom, Howden, Kobelco or similar industrial compressor technologies.

  • Experience within oil & gas, LNG, mining, chemical processing, industrial refrigeration or heavy industrial sectors.
