Role Overview: Business Analyst

Cisco’s Global Supplier Management (GSM) organization is a highly experienced, cross-functional team that drives sourcing and costing processes, supports supply continuity, and develops commodity strategies across a broad portfolio of Cisco products. The team works closely with component suppliers to improve innovation, productivity, and operational efficiency.

As a Business Analyst on the Cost Operations team, you will play a key role in supporting end-to-end cost processes and enabling commodity teams to make smarter, faster business decisions through analytics, process discipline, and digital transformation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support cost processes through supplier RFQ management, including costing and quoting activities for assigned commodities, quote analysis, and quote closure support
• Use GenAI tools and automation to extract data from supplier quotes, summarize component terms, and help digitize workflows
• Perform cost and sourcing analytics, including scenario planning, variance analysis, and data-driven insights to identify gaps and address business challenges
• Apply predictive and analytical methods to anticipate pricing trends and potential supply risks within the quote cycle
• Build and maintain actionable dashboards in Power BI or Tableau to track cost operations metrics for senior leadership
• Partner closely with commodity managers, supply chain teams, suppliers, and manufacturing partners across a global environment

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Analytics, Finance, Operations Research, or a related quantitative field.
• 2-4 years of hands-on experience in hardware supply chain analytics, cost engineering, direct material procurement.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and modeling (including pivot tables, nested formulas, XLOOKUP / INDEX-MATCH, and handling multi-tab datasets).
• Working knowledge or project-based experience developing dashboards and reports in Power BI or Tableau.
• Foundational experience utilizing Generative AI tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct domain knowledge of supply chain costing concepts, Bill of Materials (BOM) structures, Purchase Price Variance (PPV), or manufacturing quoting dynamics.
• Strong problem-solving acumen with experience in synthesizing massive multi-source datasets into crisp executive narratives, variance bridge models, and actionable negotiation insights.
• Familiarity with semiconductor or hardware commodity market dynamics.
• High learning agility, curiosity about emerging AI technologies, and a proactive mindset toward process improvement.
