About this Building Services Inspector role at AtkinsRéalis
Job Description
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Building Services Inspector to support Urban Renewal Authority Design and Build (D&B) Contract for Joint-user Complex (“JUC”) and Public Open Space (“POS”).
Your role
- Assist the Consultants / Project Manager in all aspects of supervision of building services work on site within the contracts and the maintenance of site records.
- Monitor land resources, progress, materials and equipment used on site.
- Regular inspection and closely monitor the Contractor to ensure that the works and all E&M items are being properly supervised and executed in accordance with the design and to achieve timely completion and good quality of work.
- Responsible for the upkeep of site records including site record books and submission of all monthly returns.
- Liaise and co-ordinate with other contractors, consultants, utility companies, Authority and government departments on site matters.
- Solve minor disputes/conflicts between various contractors, consultants, utility companies, Authority and government departments on site.
- Ensure the correct materials and equipment are delivered to site by contractors and that only those approved materials and equipment are installed.
- Assist in the checking of any site measurements of building services works and payments claimed by contractors.
- Inspect and witness the testing and commissioning of building services installations.
- Monitor the progress of building services outstanding works and defects rectification works.
- Assist the Project Manager in the checking of building services operation and maintenance manuals and as-fitted drawings submitted by various contractors.
- Take note of comments made by the Property Services Branch (PSB), other maintenance agents and client departments upon completion of the works with record in the site record book.
- Attend all pre-handover meetings, handover meetings and inspections arranged by the Supervising Officer and the Supervising Officer’s Representatives.
About you
- Diploma or Higher Certificate in Building Services Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical.
- Engineering from the Construction Industry Council in Hong Kong / Hong Kong Institute of Construction / Hong Kong Polytechnic University / Polytechnic or Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education / Technical Institute / Technical College or equivalent.
- Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSE) or Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent
- Minimum 10 years post-qualification experience in site supervision of building services installations including 5 years in the capacity of building services inspector.
- Must have design and build job experience for Architectural Services Department.
- Good communication skill in English and Cantonese.
