Position Summary: The Building Maintenance Tech 2 performs routine building maintenance and repair work across resort facilities. This position is a developing technician role that requires basic maintenance experience, the ability to complete assigned tasks with limited supervision, and the judgment to escalate more complex repairs to higher-level technicians or supervisors. Tech 2 supports daily operations, preventative maintenance, snow removal, grounds work, and general facility upkeep while continuing to build the skills needed for advancement within the maintenance technician structure. 

 

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities: 

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs including carpentry, drywall, plumbing, painting, doors, hardware, fixtures, and appliance support. 
  • Complete assigned work orders with limited supervision and communicate status, material needs, or issues that require additional support. 
  • Assist with preventative maintenance inspections and facility checks. 
  • Support snow removal, sanding, trash removal, signage, exterior maintenance, and seasonal grounds work. 
  • Respond to facility concerns in a timely, professional manner to help maintain safe, clean, and functional resort spaces. 
  • Safely operate approved tools, equipment, and company vehicles within training and company standards. 
  • Assist higher-level technicians, supervisors, and contractors with larger repairs, projects, inspections, and operational needs. 
  • Follow company safety policies, use proper PPE, and maintain a safe work environment for employees, guests, and work crews. 
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays as required by resort operations.

Specific Job Skills: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. 
  • Previous building maintenance, construction, trades, facilities, or resort operations experience preferred. 
  • Basic working knowledge of carpentry, drywall, plumbing, painting, doors, hardware, and general repairs. 
  • Ability to complete routine maintenance tasks with limited supervision and identify when to escalate issues. 
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, ladders, snow removal equipment, and approved other maintenance equipment. 
  • Must have a valid US Driver’s License and complete an MVR check to company standards. 
  • Minimum age 18 years old to drive company vehicles. 
  • Basic computer and mobile device skills required for work orders, communication, training, and company systems. 
  • Flexible schedule required, including weekends, holidays, early mornings, evenings, and weather-driven shifts. 
  • Strong communication, teamwork, reliability, and willingness to continue developing maintenance skills. 

 

Physical Demands: 

  • Bending, reaching, climbing, pushing, pulling & prolonged standing  
  • Eye/hand coordination & visual concentration on equipment  
  • Concentrated reading and writing  
  • Must be able to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs.   
  • Extended periods of outdoor exposure    
  • Extreme cold, extreme heat and sun exposure   
  • Variation in temperature from hot to cold  

 

Compensation & Benefits: 

  • Compensation: Proposed hiring rate of $25+, actual pay will be adjusted based on experience. 
  • Benefits: this year-round position is eligible to enroll in company subsidized medical, dental, vision, flexible spending, HSA, life/disability options; season pass for employees/dependents and privileges at several other resorts.  Several discount programs (i.e. food & beverage, retail/rental, tickets, etc.) also available.
