The successful candidate will be expected to manage day-to-day transaction execution, coordinate workstreams across internal and external stakeholders, and serve as a key point of contact for clients. This role will also support senior bankers in business development and origination efforts, contribute to industry and company analysis, and provide guidance and mentorship to Associates and Analysts.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage day-to-day execution of Industrials investment banking transactions, with a particular focus on chemicals and related subsectors
  • Support and, where appropriate, take ownership of transaction processes involving IPOs, follow-on offerings, private placements, mergers and acquisitions, strategic alternatives, and other advisory assignments
  • Develop and review detailed financial models, including operating models, valuation analyses, accretion/dilution analyses, merger models, and transaction-related analyses
  • Conduct industry, company, market, and competitive analysis within the chemicals sector
  • Prepare and review client materials, including pitch books, confidential information memoranda, management presentations, board materials, valuation analyses, and other transaction documentation
  • Coordinate due diligence and manage information flow among clients, senior bankers, legal counsel, accounting advisors, lenders, investors, and other transaction parties
  • Participate in client meetings, management presentations, investor discussions, and other business development activities
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with client executives and other key stakeholders
  • Assist senior bankers with origination efforts, including identifying transaction opportunities, developing marketing strategies, and preparing new-business presentations
  • Manage multiple concurrent engagements, transaction deadlines, and junior team members while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and quality
  • Review and provide constructive feedback on the work of Associates and Analysts; contribute to the development of junior professionals
  • Exercise sound judgment in identifying transaction issues, escalating potential risks, and helping develop practical solutions
  • Ensure that work product and transaction processes comply with applicable regulatory requirements and BTIG policies

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a related field; an MBA or other advanced degree is a plus
  • Typically 5–9 years of relevant experience in investment banking, financial advisory, or a related transaction-oriented role, with demonstrated experience executing corporate finance and M&A transactions
  • Experience in the Industrials sector required; direct experience covering chemicals, specialty chemicals, materials, or related subsectors strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to manage transaction execution with increasing independence and accountability
  • Strong financial modeling, valuation, accounting, and analytical skills
  • Experience with public and private capital markets transactions and M&A processes
  • Ability to understand client objectives, identify key transaction considerations, and communicate thoughtful recommendations
  • Demonstrated client-facing skills and the ability to build relationships with company executives, investors, and other transaction stakeholders
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects and competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with Bloomberg, Capital IQ, FactSet, and other banking-related databases and applications
  • Strong leadership, collaboration, coaching, and team-management skills
  • High level of integrity, sound judgment, attention to detail, and commitment to delivering high-quality work
  • Series 79 and Series 63 licenses required, or ability to obtain them within the applicable regulatory timeframe; SIE required, if applicable based on registration status
