We are currently looking for a Body Engineering Intern to join our team in Canton, MS. This internship offers the opportunity to work alongside a tenured engineering team responsible for white-body dimensional accuracy and quality control. The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience supporting vehicle build quality improvements, developing tools and fixtures, and assisting with the implementation of advanced manufacturing technologies, including 3D vision-guided robotics.
A Day in the Life:
- Support initiatives focused on improving body dimensional accuracy and overall vehicle quality.
- Assist with the design, development, and validation of jigs and fixtures to improve manufacturing processes.
- Participate in projects that enhance technician safety and ergonomic work practices.
- Support the deployment of new manufacturing technologies and equipment installations.
- Collaborate with engineers and plant personnel to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
Who We’re Looking for:
Required:
- Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- Students entering their Junior or Senior year at the start of the upcoming academic term.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in manufacturing processes.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Self-starter with a willingness to learn and take initiative.
- Participation in hands-on engineering organizations such as Formula SAE, Baja, Solar Car Team, or similar programs is preferred.
- GPA of 3.0 or above (Candidates will be required to provide an official or unofficial transcript during the application process for verification.)
- Ability to perform work onsite at Canton, MS.
