WHAT YOU WILL DO:

The AV Technician serves as the primary technical expert responsible for the support, operation, maintenance, and optimization of enterprise audiovisual (AV), unified communications, and event production technologies. This role provides advanced troubleshooting and escalation support for complex AV systems, collaboration platforms, and integrated technology environments while ensuring exceptional service delivery across conference rooms, executive briefing centers, training facilities, production studios, auditoriums, and hybrid meeting spaces.

The position plays a critical role in the planning and execution of executive events, live broadcasts, webinars, town halls, and hybrid productions by delivering end-to-end technical support, coordinating with stakeholders and vendors, and ensuring flawless event experiences. The Senior AV Production & Collaboration Engineer partners closely with Engineering, IT, Facilities, Project Management, and business teams to maintain operational excellence, improve system reliability, support technology initiatives, and drive continuous service improvement across the organization. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as the primary technical resource and escalation point for complex AV system, collaboration platform, and event production issues.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve AV hardware, software, control system, audio, video, collaboration technology, signal flow, DSP, and AV networking issues.
  • Provide end-to-end event production support for executive presentations, town halls, webinars, training sessions, broadcasts, and in-person, virtual, and hybrid events.
  • Set up, configure, operate, monitor, and de-rig professional audio, video, lighting, streaming, recording, and presentation systems.
  • Operate and support audio consoles, video switchers, PTZ cameras, microphones, presentation systems, streaming platforms, recording equipment, and broadcast technologies.
  • Develop, review, and execute Run of Show (ROS) documentation, technical plans, rehearsals, and event readiness activities.
  • Serve as the technical liaison for presenters, executives, producers, event coordinators, and external vendors before and during events.
  • Monitor production quality throughout events and proactively resolve technical issues to ensure seamless delivery and a positive participant experience.
  • Support live broadcasts, live streams, recordings, and hybrid production workflows while ensuring all event systems are tested and operational prior to event start.
  • Conduct post-event reporting, issue tracking, lessons learned reviews, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Manage production equipment inventory, storage, logistics, shipping, receiving, and quality control processes.
  • Accurately document, update, and resolve service tickets while meeting established service levels and operational standards. 
  • Deliver exceptional customer service through effective communication, stakeholder engagement, and proactive support of business requirements.
  • Restore AV systems and event technologies to operational status with minimal disruption to business operations and user experience.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, system health checks, room audits, equipment readiness reviews, and operational assessments across supported AV environments.
  • Maintain conference rooms, executive briefing centers, training rooms, production studios, event spaces, auditoriums, and hybrid meeting environments.
  • Coordinate firmware updates, software upgrades, system maintenance activities, and technology refresh initiatives.
  • Track equipment health, maintenance history, warranty status, asset inventories, and lifecycle management records.
  • Manage manufacturer RMAs, warranty replacements, vendor repairs, and third party service engagements.
  • Support AV equipment installation, commissioning, testing, deployment, room acceptance, and operational turnover activities.
  • Provide technical support digital signage, LED walls, streaming platforms, room control systems, and integrated collaboration technologies.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on recurring incidents and develop corrective action plans to improve service quality and system reliability.
  • Create, maintain, and update technical documentation, operating procedures, support guides, asset records, and knowledge base articles.
  • Partner with Engineering, IT, Facilities, Project Managers, AV integrators, vendors, and business stakeholders to support operational excellence and service delivery.
  • Provide mentoring, technical guidance, and knowledge transfer to junior technicians and support teams.
  • Participate in technology evaluations, proof-of-concept testing, and validation of new AV solutions prior to deployment.
  • Support office expansions, technology upgrades, room refreshes, and special AV projects as required.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  • 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise AV, unified communications, collaboration technologies, or live event production environments.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience operating and troubleshooting professional audio, video, streaming, broadcast, and presentation systems.
  • Proven experience supporting executive-facing events, including town halls, webinars, broadcasts, large meetings, and hybrid event productions.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex AV systems, including DSPs, control systems, audio/video signal flow, AV-over-IP technologies, conferencing systems, and room control platforms.
  • Experience supporting collaboration technologies such as Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, Webex, Google Meet, or similar enterprise communication platforms.
  • Experience with AV system installations, commissioning, testing, room acceptance, and operational turnover activities.
  • Demonstrated experience performing root cause analysis, incident resolution, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience managing AV equipment inventories, asset lifecycles, vendor relationships, warranty repairs, and manufacturer RMAs.
  • Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation, knowledge base articles, standard operating procedures, and Run of Show (ROS) documentation.
  • Experience mentoring junior technicians and providing technical leadership in a fast-paced support environment.
