Biotechnologist II (Nights)

Location: Portsmouth, NH

We are seeking motivated and dependable individuals to join our rotational night shift (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM) in Portsmouth, NH, supporting the manufacture of essential medicines. In this role, you will operate production equipment, perform laboratory activities, and help maintain a clean, safe, and compliant manufacturing environment. This position is well suited for individuals who are reliable, detail-oriented, comfortable working in a highly regulated environment, and interested in building a career in life sciences manufacturing. Schedule:

  • Shift/Hours:  A-Nights 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Rotation: 2 nights on, 2 nights off, 3 nights on, 2 nights off, 2 nights on, 3 nights off
  • Cycle: Repeats every two weeks
  • Shift Differential: Weekend work is required as part of the normal rotation, night and weekend hours are eligible for additional pay

What you’ll do

  • Set up, operate, and monitor manufacturing equipment and processes, including clean-in-place (CIP) and steam-in-place (SIP) operations, in accordance with established procedures and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).
  • Complete and review production records and required documentation accurately and in accordance with Good Documentation Practices (GDPs).
  • Identify, communicate, and assist in troubleshooting process and equipment issues, escalating concerns appropriately.
  • Attain and maintain qualification for assigned tasks and remain current with training requirements.
  • Perform routine laboratory and in-process testing, including pH and conductivity measurements, product sampling, and other process monitoring activities.
  • Serve as a resource for less-experienced associates and support their training and development.
  • Perform material movements, including transferring and staging raw materials, chemicals, components, and process materials throughout production areas.
  • Maintain manufacturing facilities and equipment through routine cleaning and sanitization, while supporting 6S and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in shift exchanges, team meetings, projects, and other activities supporting manufacturing operations.
  • Collaborate with team members and support functions to meet production, quality, safety, and compliance requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What we’re looking for

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally in science, engineering, biotechnology, or a related technical field.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred; experience in a cGMP-regulated environment or as a Level I Associate in biopharmaceutical manufacturing is a plus.
  • Ability to follow detailed procedures, recognize abnormal conditions, and appropriately evaluate or escalate issues.
  • Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and functions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety, quality, compliance, and operational excellence.
  • Ability to prioritize work and adapt to changing production schedules and business needs.
  • Demonstrates company cultural beliefs and behaviors, seeks and applies feedback, takes on increasing responsibility, and contributes to individual and team development.
