BIM Technician

Location: Kilkenny 

Work Shift: Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 17.30pm 

Duration: Permanent

Overview of the role:

You will be part of a team working across multiple Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants projects in green and brownfield sites. You will be involved in the production of detailed Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID’s), Project Information Models (PIM), Asset Information Models (AIM) and the production of drawings and models for client approval, for construction and verified construction records to a high standard in line with client requirements, Veolia standard practices and industry standards.
 

Day to day of the role

  • Develop P&IDs pertinent to  Water & Waste-water Treatment Plants using AutoCad Software under guidance from Design Engineers

  • Develop 3D Models, General Arrangement Drawings for Water & Wastewater Treatment Plants using Revit Software under guidance from Design Engineers

  • Responsibility for ensuring that your work within your department is carried out accurately and with due diligence

  • Effective time management and execution of output within defined timeline and budgetary constraints

  • Ensuring effective, professional and appropriate communication at all times with design engineers

  • Problem solving and application of good engineering principles

  • Understanding and ensuring compliance with Clients Specifications, User Requirement Specifications, Health and Safety Requirements, Company Quality requirements, Company Policy, legislation, design standards and good engineering practice

  • Supporting and assisting Managers and colleagues

  • Adhere to the Company’s ethical conduct guidelines and maintain a working environment which is supportive and respectful of other employees

  • Ad Hoc duties as required

Required skills for this role:

  • Must be proficient in and have advanced knowledge of Revit

  • Must be proficient in and have advanced knowledge of Navisworks

  • Must be proficient in and have advanced knowledge of AutoCAD

  • Must be proficient in and have advanced knowledge of BIM360 including project setup and ongoing maintenance

  • Must be proficient in the use of Point Clouds and have a working knowledge of RecapPro (or similar software)

  • Must be able to follow standard practices and positively contribute to the development of current and future standard practices

  • Must be able to read and follow schematic drawings

  • Must be proficient in the development 3D models

  • Must be familiar with the use of the BIM interoperability toolkit for the addition of Uniclass and Construction Operation Building information exchange (COBie) information to model elements

  • Must be proficient in the development of general arrangement drawing

  • Must be proficient in Excel & Word

  • 5+ years experience in a similar role 

  • Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment industry preferable

  • Relevant 3rd Level qualification in the AEC industry

  • Relevant work experience
