Billing Specialist Senior - Cash Posting

Virtual: This role enables associates to work virtually full-time, except for required in-person training sessions, providing maximum flexibility and autonomy. This approach promotes productivity, supports work-life integration, and ensures essential face-to-face onboarding and skill development. Alternate locations may be considered if candidates reside within a commuting distance from an office.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8AM-5PM CST.

The Billing Specialist Senior will be responsible for assembling and maintaining all necessary documentation for billing purposes.

How you will make an impact:

• Maintains billing system database.
• Identifies, analyzes and reconciles discrepancies in data.
• Posts to sub ledgers.
• Strong analytical and math skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment within specified deadlines
• Provides billing information to internal and external contacts; and first line collections.
• Professional and timely oral or written communication to internal and external customers.
• Fully proficient with daily tasks and is able to handle more complex billing situations with minimal guidance and provide recommendations for decision making.

Minimum Requirements:

• Requires H.S. diploma or equivalent and minimum of 3 years billing and collections experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:

• Strong Microsoft Office skills *Excel strongly preferred. 
• Strong understanding of Explanation of Benefits, Ansi Codes, Reason Codes and Denial Codes preferred.
• Daily processing and reconciliation of cash receipts and postings to customer accounts, including payments made by EFT/ERA, credit card, lockbox and branch deposits as well as other adjustments to customer accounts for credits/debits and account write-offs at the line-item level preferred.
• Ability to identify, analyze and reconcile issues with billing, pricing or other customer service areas preferred.
• Ability to work overtime when necessary to meet department goals and objectives preferred.
