The Beet Seed Processing Tech position provides quality control by checking samples.

Principle accountabilities include but are not limited to:

• Takes beet seed samples and conducts on-line processing quality control checks.

• Packages seed in 25 to 40 pound packages and applies proper labels.

• Maintains various beet seed varieties and beet seed sizes separately and processes them properly. Requires attention to detail and high degree of care to ensure accuracy.

• Properly and accurately prepares seed on pallets as instructed for shipment.

• Operates a shrink wrap machine to secure seed container on shipping pallet.

• May operate an electric forklift and hand pallet jack, as needed.

• Performs other duties as assigned and works overtime as required.

Job Requirements:

• High School diploma or a GED certificate is required.

• Individuals are required to take a Basic Skills Test to verify basic skills and knowledge, including a Mechanical Aptitude Test

• Able to read, write and communicate effectively.

• Basic math skills and an attitude of care with an attention to detail to ensure accuracy of work.

• Mechanical aptitude with an ability to understand and use beet seed processing principles and procedures.

• Able to be certified to safely operate and maintain an electric forklift and electric hand pallet jack. CDL license preferred and may be awarded contingent on obtaining a CDL permit and the CDL within 6 months of the contingent job award.

• Current and satisfactory DOT physical examination certification (DOT health card) is required within 10 days of the contingent job award. Must be able to recertify health card and meet all DOT requirements including random drug testing.
