About this role

As a Backend Engineer within our Grocery & Retail Domain, your work will be the face of one of the world’s leading food delivery companies, primarily for our customer-facing apps. You will join a dynamic, highly collaborative global engineering group distributed across international tech hubs to help unlock new opportunities for our partners and enhance our customers’ experience.

In this role, you will actively pioneer AI-driven engineering by designing, developing, and integrating custom AI skills, specialized developer tools, and autonomous AI agents into our software development workflows and global backend systems, dramatically accelerating innovation and redefining productivity.

These are some of the key ingredients to the role:

• Collaborate across cross-functional distributed teams worldwide to design and deliver robust, microservices-based backend architectures;
• Architect and implement custom AI agents, tools, and developer skills that automate backend workflows and empower engineering teams globally;
• Build scalable APIs and event-driven architectures powering high-traffic customer and partner interactions on a global scale;

What will you bring to the table?

3+ years of hands-on experience with a common backend framework (preferably .NET Core)

• Proficiency in services architecture, messaging and asynchronous systems.
• Experience in relational and non-relational databases 
• Understanding cloud services (storage, messaging, etc.), containers and Kubernetes
• Practical experience or strong enthusiasm for leveraging AI coding tools, developing custom AI skills/agents, and adopting agentic development workflows
• English – Good spoken and written communication skills
