Associate Vice President (AVP) 

Oracle Platforms & Global Infrastructure (ETO–PIE) 
Location: India (with global responsibilities) 

Role Overview 

The Associate Vice President (AVP) will serve as the global leader for Oracle platform engineering within the Enterprise Technology Organization (ETO) – Platform Infrastructure & Engineering (PIE). This role is accountable for setting the strategic direction, driving product and platform delivery, and leading a globally distributed team supporting mission-critical enterprise platforms. 

The AVP will play a key leadership role in advancing a modern, product-centric, and agile operating model while ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance across a complex hybrid infrastructure landscape. 

Key Responsibilities 

Platform Strategy & Product Leadership 

• Define and execute the enterprise Oracle platform strategy aligned with business priorities 

• Lead product management, capability development, and lifecycle governance for Oracle platforms 

• Drive modernization and continuous improvement initiatives across the platform portfolio 

Engineering & Technology Leadership 

• Provide senior engineering oversight across a diverse technology ecosystem, including: 

• Oracle platforms 

• IBM Z Mainframe 

• BMC Control-M 

• AIX environments 

• Integration platforms (IBM and SaaS-based) 

• Public cloud (Azure, GCP) 

• On-premises infrastructure (VMware, Dell storage, Windows, Linux) 

• Ensure robust architecture, engineering standards, and operational excellence 

Global Delivery & Execution 

• Lead delivery of platform capabilities across 20+ global systems using agile methodologies 

• Partner with cross-functional teams to execute epics, roadmaps, and strategic initiatives 

• Ensure reliable, scalable, and secure platform operations across regions 

People & Talent Leadership 

• Lead and develop a global team of 35–45 associates, including India-based resources 

• Oversee workforce planning, talent development, and succession planning 

• Provide direct leadership to regional IT managers across multiple infrastructure domains 

• Foster a high-performance, inclusive, and innovation-driven culture 

Financial & Operational Management 

• Own and manage an annual budget of approximately $20M 

• Drive financial discipline, cost optimization, and vendor management 

• Ensure effective use of resources across internal teams and external partners 

Regional Leadership (India) 

• Provide local leadership across Cloud Engineering, Hosting, Mainframe, and Integration teams 

• Ensure alignment between global strategy and regional execution 

• Oversee HR, performance management, and employee engagement at the local level 

Qualifications 

Required 

• 19+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, platform engineering, or enterprise systems 

• Proven leadership experience managing global, distributed teams at scale 

• Deep expertise in Oracle platforms and enterprise infrastructure environments 

• Strong experience with hybrid cloud and on-premises architectures 

• Demonstrated success delivering large-scale technology initiatives using agile methodologies 

• Experience managing significant operating budgets and vendor ecosystems 

Preferred 

• Experience in large, global retail or enterprise environments 

• Familiarity with product-centric operating models 

• Strong background in transformation initiatives (cloud, automation, platform modernization)
