The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join our team, focusing on developing and implementing automation solutions to enhance observability and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automation and observability technologies, with at least 4 years of experience in source code management and automation toolsets like Ansible, PowerShell, Terraform, and Python.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain automation solutions for system monitoring, alerting, and reporting, including agent deployment, synthetic transaction monitoring, and incident remediation.
- Manage source code using GitHub (or similar tools), ensuring best practices in version control, branching, and collaboration.
- Develop automation scripts using Ansible, PowerShell, Terraform, and Python for advanced automation and data analysis tasks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement automation opportunities.
- Document automation processes and provide support for IT operations and development teams.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to automation scripts and systems.
- Stay updated on the latest automation technologies and contribute to team innovation.
Skills and experience
- Generally, requires a Bachelor's degree and 5 years of related experience, a Master's degree and 3 years of related experience, or 8 years of related experience and no degree.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in developing automation solutions for IT operations.
- Strong proficiency in GitHub (or similar tools), Ansible, PowerShell, Terraform, and Jenkins.
- Experience with event management solutions, including ServiceNow ITOM, AIOps, and observability platforms.
- Proficiency in Python scripting.
- Experience with modern observability tools.
- Solid understanding of IT operations, system administration, and observability principles.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
