What You’ll Do
- Conduct initial assessments of athletes’ injuries or illnesses to provide emergency or continued care and determine whether referral to a physician is necessary.
- Provide athletic injury prevention, assessment, treatment, first aid, and reconditioning in accordance with standards established by the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers (BOC) and National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA).
- Provide services to student-athletes under the direction of the team physician or through written referral from a physician, in accordance with applicable state athletic training practice laws and regulations.
- Perform proper taping, strapping, bracing, and fitting of athletic equipment.
- Serve as a liaison between student-athletes and Physical Therapists.
- Communicate effectively with coaches, student-athletes, parents, physicians, patients, and Company staff.
- Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with staff, athletes, coaches, and the general public.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree with major coursework in kinesiology/biomechanics, exercise physiology, infection control, professionalism and ethics, and the prevention and care of athletic injuries.
- BOC certification required.
- Current state athletic training licensure.
- Knowledge of athletic injuries, including their prevention, recognition, assessment, treatment, and first aid.
- Current CPR and/or AED certification.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with student-athletes, coaches, physicians, Physical Therapists, staff, and the general public.
- Commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care to student-athletes.
