Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Associate Roadway Engineer to join our team! In this role you will have the opportunity to support some of the region and nation's biggest infrastructure projects working alongside a world-class team of engineers.

 

What You'll Be Doing:

• Working under the supervision of a licensed engineer, analyze and prepare roadway designs, calculations and drawings for transportation projects using DOT and/or local jurisdiction criteria
• Assist with development of geometric design of highways and roads including horizontal and vertical geometry, cross sections, super-elevations diagrams, details, vertical clearance calculations and grading plans.
• Develop 3D Models of roadways using Open Roads or Civil3D
• Assist with the preparation of technical engineering reports, contract documents, material quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and schedules for review by a licensed engineer.
• Approach tasks with an open mindset; propose innovative solutions to design problems
• Responsible for managing timely completion of multiple assigned tasks
• Communicate effectively with team members and internal design groups; external communication as required on assigned tasks
• Take ownership of personal career development by seeking and providing feedback, seizing opportunities to develop new skills, and setting and pursuing personal goals

 

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• 4-year degree in Civil Engineering (or related field)
• 0+ years or more of related work experience.
• Requires basic process engineering knowledge, as well as a working knowledge of CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering
• Strong communication skills and ability to effectively communicate both written and orally.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

• Prior internship experience working is a plus
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate is preferred.
• Familiarity with the following design software is also a plus: Microstation, OpenRoads, and Civil3D.

Salary Range: $26.59 - $46.54
