Job Details:

SUMMARY: The Associate Manager Consumer Insights will independently manage defined consumer research projects and contribute to broader learning plans for assigned brands, businesses, or workstreams within the Tyson Foods portfolio. This role will partner with business teams and research suppliers to clarify research needs, execute high-quality studies, analyze and synthesize learning, and develop increasingly independent recommendations for business partners.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Partner with cross-functional business stakeholders in the Business Units, Innovation, Marketing, R&D, Sales, suppliers, agencies, consultants, and other senior Insights team members to clarify business objectives, research questions, decisions, and action standards.
• Independently manage defined research projects from brief development through final recommendation.
• Manage external suppliers and DIY projects through all stages of the research process, including design, programming, fieldwork, analysis, quality control, timing, and budget.
• Contribute to the synthesis of consumer learnings that tell a cohesive and actionable story, share learnings with business partners.
• Integrate relevant primary, secondary, syndicated scanner and panel data as well as prior research into analysis when relevant.
• Maintain organized research files and add completed learning, metadata, and supporting materials to the team’s insights repository.
• Support Managers and Senior Managers on broader learning agendas and complex strategic initiatives

 

REQUIREMENTS:

• EDUCATION: Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Psychology, Marketing Research or related field required.
• EXPERIENCE: 2+ years of relevant experience on the manufacturer side or supplier side, preferably within or supporting a branded consumer packaged goods company. Innovation and food industry experience a plus.
• COMPUTER SKILLS: Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and the ability to learn and apply research, analytics, visualization, knowledge-management, and AI-enabled tools

  • Demonstrated success in using insights to inform business decisions.  
  • Must be able to develop and share objective point-of-view while building constructive rapport with internal cross functionals and outside research suppliers.
  • Excellent planning and project management skills.
  • Highly motivated, eager to learn, with the ability to devise an effective solution in unstructured situations.
  • Sound judgment when working with confidential information and AI-generated content.
  • Willingness to use a Test-and-learn approach to explore emerging research methods.
  • Working knowledge of marketing and market research fundamentals, including hands-on experience supporting or leading qualitative or quantitative research in some of the following areas: Consumer segmentation and profiling, Category assessments, Purchase drivers and barriers, Concept development, optimization and validation, Brand strategy, equity, and positioning, Campaign and communication pre-testing and tracking, Need-states mapping, Identifying and utilizing trends to build foundation for successful innovation launches
