JOB PURPOSE:

This position will be responsible for the daily service of assigned accounts under the direction of Account Manager(s). This person will eventually assume full Account Management duties on certain accounts, while assuming responsibility for assigned lines of business for larger accounts.

JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary Responsibilities

1.      Work with Employee Benefits Consultants and Producers on marketing of new and renewal business to include:

a. Using independent discretion and judgment collect, analyze and interpret data from client benefit plans

b.      Develop potential solutions and alternatives and make recommendations to Employee Benefits Consultant and/or Producers

c.       Assist in preparation of new and renewal proposal presentations

2.      Present renewal proposals, or portions of renewal proposals, to clients as assigned by Account Manager.

3.      Handle day-to-day service issues

a.      Provide excellent customer service to clients and their employees

b.      Using independent discretion and judgment handle claim research and resolution for clients and their employees

c.       Liaison between carrier/vendors and clients and their employees

d.      Document all client related service issues in the Agency Management system.

4.      Responsible for maintaining client and benefit plan information on employer web portal.

5.      Attend annual enrollment meeting and benefit fairs for clients when requested.

6. Coordinate new client implementations and support broader project and team initiatives as needed.

7.      Negotiate and advocate on client’s behalf with insurance marketplace.

8.      Maintain current knowledge of marketplace, available coverage’s, carriers and legislative regulations.

9.      Attend client meetings with Employee Benefits Consultant/Producers as requested.

10.  Perform other duties as requested.

Secondary Responsibilities

11. Serve as a peer mentor and resource to less experienced Account Analysts, providing guidance, coaching, and knowledge-sharing to support their development.

12. Maintain client files, including filing, correspondence and chart documents.

13. Coordinate Annual Benefit fairs and enrollments with clients and vendors

14. Assist with on-going account administration.

15. Prepare/Draft client and vendor correspondence.

16. Maintain database of census and related information for client accounts.

17. Prepare and coordinate print material for enrollments.

18. Prepare employee surveys and benchmark surveys as requested.

19. Manage and prepare internal quality assurance procedures, checklists and tasks for assigned clients.

20. Perform other duties and projects assigned by The Graham Company managerial personnel.

21. Attend meetings relating to your position.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

1.      College degree preferred.

2.      Minimum five (5) years of experience in the Employee Benefits industry (brokerage or insurance company) with a primary focus on Health Insurance.

3.      Ability to develop creative, client specific solutions and work product, while working within a framework of established standards and best practices.

4.      Be a “team player” and perform other duties and projects as assigned.  Also, assist other team members when needed (e.g., taking phone messages, answering questions, greeting visitors, etc.).

5.      Ability to exercise independent discretion and judgment. 

 6.      Pursue a program for personal and professional development; and obtain and maintain the required insurance agent’s license.

7.      Good communication skills (oral and written).

8.      Ability to set and meet deadlines.

9.      Ability to work autonomously, while recognizing team-oriented goals.

10.  Ability to perform well under pressure.

11.  Ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple tasks.

12.  Detail oriented, resourceful.

13.  Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

14.  Hold a valid Life, Accident & Health Insurance License (or ability to pass licensing exam after a brief company sponsored self-study program).

15.  Pursue a program for personal and professional development; and maintain the required insurance agent’s license.

16.  Maintain valid Driver’s License or alternate efficient and effective means to visit clients/prospects.

17.  Professional Demeanor.

18.  Regular and predictable attendance in accordance with the limitations and reporting procedures established by The Graham Company from time to time.

19.  Proficient in Graham standard computer applications.

20.  Employees are required to be fit-for-duty which includes not being under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. This includes any drugs that might impact an employee’s ability to safely perform their job.


The applicable base salary range for this role is $74,725 to $85,000.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
