Job Overview

We are seeking a strategic and execution-focused Associate Director, Treatment Execution Lead to join the Global HIV Medical Affairs team, with responsibility for LATAM (Latin America), MERT (Middle East, Russia and Turkey) and the Gilead Patient Solutions region, which is focused on expanding access to critical medicines in low- and lower-middle-income countries.

This role ensures that regional needs shape global medical and commercialization strategies—and that global strategies enable successful regional execution. This individual serves as a critical bridge between Global Medical Affairs (GMA) and the region/affiliate MA teams, acting as both:

·        the primary representative of the regional needs, priorities and insights at global level, and

·        the key enabler ensuring respective markets receive the appropriate level of support, resources and strategic alignment from the GMA team

The Treatment Execution Lead plays a central role in advancing a “global with local” model, enhancing the relevance, impact, and execution of global strategies across diverse markets.

Core responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Regional Representation & Strategic Influence

·        Act as the primary advocate for LATAM, MERT and GPS within Global Medical Affairs and other cross-functional teams

·        Represent regional priorities, challenges, and unmet needs in global strategic discussions, focused on healthcare provider and patient perspectives within the HIV treatment landscape

·        Bring forward consolidated, high-quality medical insights to actively shape and influence global strategy, priorities, and decision-making

·        Ensure regional perspectives are systematically integrated into treatment global medical strategy, asset lifecycle plans and evidence generation priorities

·        Partner across Global Medical Affairs, affiliates and key cross-functional stakeholders to ensure LATAM, MERT and GPS priorities are represented and inform enterprise-wide decisions

2. Global-to-Local Strategy enablement & Impact

·        Ensure LATAM, MERT and GPS receive the right level of support, resources, and engagement from the GMA HIV team

·        Facilitate timely and coordinated access to GMA updates, materials, expertise and capabilities

·        Proactively identify gaps in support, execution barriers, or unmet needs, and mobilize solutions

·        Act as a centralized point of coordination, reducing fragmentation and improving responsiveness across GMA interactions

·        Translate global HIV treatment strategies and priorities into locally relevant and actionable plans

·        Drive alignment with the Global Plan of Action and cross-functional priorities

·        Enable consistent, high-quality implementation across LATAM, MERT and GPS regions

·        Simplify global-to-local ways of working, streamline communication flows and improve execution effectiveness across stakeholders

3. Insights Generation & Integration

·        Lead structured and continuous insights collection from affiliates

·        Consolidate regional input into clear, actionable insights and recommendations

·        Ensure insights are visible at global level and actively used to inform strategy and decisions (closing the loop)

·        Leverage affiliate insights to drive strategic ideation and continuous improvement

4. Capability Building & Local Empowerment

·        Strengthen affiliate capabilities by providing support to training, best practice sharing & cross-country collaboration

·        Enable local teams to execute effectively without increasing complexity or burden

·        Increase visibility of local achievements and best practices at global level

·        Foster collaboration across affiliates, global teams and cross-functional partners to accelerate learning, innovation and execution excellence

5. Scientific Congress & Meeting Support

·        Lead coordination and orchestration of key global HIV scientific congresses and regional Medical Affairs meetings involving LATAM, MERT and GPS

·        Partner with GMA, affiliates, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure effective planning, alignment, content coordination, and execution of congress-related activities

·        Drive stakeholder engagement, best practice sharing, and operational excellence across key meetings

Specific Knowledge, Education, and Experience Requirements

·        Advanced scientific degree (MD, DO, PharmD, PhD or equivalent), with 3+ years of experience in the HIV therapeutic area

·        Prior Global or affiliate experience in pharmaceutical industry Medical Affairs
