About Role

Howden Re is the global reinsurance broker and risk, capital, & strategic advisor focused on relentless innovation & superior analytics for top client service.   As we continue to build out our US Facultative business, we are looking for individuals with an entrepreneurial mindset to join us on this ambitious journey of growth.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supporting senior Team members to establish renewal strategy and execution plans
  • Develop ability to compare and contrast various reinsurance structures and evaluate financial cost/benefit in both income statement and balance sheet terms
  • Creating client presentations around structure, pricing, and market conditions and meeting face-to-face with clients to give advice
  • Building submission and detailed technical analyses for client portfolios
  • Coordination and creation of pre/post binding due diligence procedures associated with reinsurance transactions
  • Partner with Contract Drafting for wording negotiations and close coordination with contract drafters and legal/regulatory experts
  • Working in tandem with all Howden Re resources to deliver effective client service

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a business-related position & environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management & Insurance, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, or a business-related field
  • Interest in pursuing a career within Reinsurance
  • Proactive, creative and analytical thinker that works well independently and within a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Desire and interest to pursue an opportunity that is involving client related tasks
  • Ability to apply mathematical thinking in the business and insurance environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Products, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Highly motivated and committed to continually developing your professional skillset
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

The expected annual salary for this role is $90,000-$150,000; actual salary will be determined based on factors including candidate experience and work location. This role is classified as exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
