POSITION SUMMARY: 

The Associate Designer, Women’s Function works with the Design Director, Women’s Innovation to deliver original bra, underwear, and shapewear concepts with a focus on in season development. Using technologically advanced construction and materials, your primary focus will be to create comfortable and stylish designs that enhance the natural shape, confidence, and comfort of women, with Calvin Klein design aesthetics. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, conduct research, and use your design skills to develop styles that align with the brand's vision, market trends, and customer needs.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB: 

·         Contribute to design of trend right, saleable product to drive sales for bras, underwear, shapewear

·         Participate in fittings from first prototypes through design intent, ensuring design aesthetic and overall garment quality

·         Research the market for competitor intelligence and trend forecasting.

·         Work with sourcing and technical teams to execute high-quality product within calendar timeline.

·         Create and maintain tech packs including updates during fit sessions and for cost purposes

·         Prepare development tech packages and maintain BOMs, including material, color, graphic, and internal branding information.

·         Follow up on preproduction details: color, fabric, and trim; to ensure consistent high quality.

·         Ensure calendar deadline adherence

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Experience: 5 years of related underwear design experience

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent     

Skills: 

·         Focus on design for functional innovation

·         Raw material development follow-up

·         Must be technically skilled and capable to make all aesthetic comments during fit sessions

·         Centric / PLM experience – create and maintain design packages for seasonal and carryover product

·         Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

·         Proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, Excel, PowerPoint, Acrobat

INTERNAL & EXTERNAL CONTACTS:       

Internal: Work with Design Director on new designs, explore new construction techniques. and secure approval of designs. Partner with merchants as needed regarding line plan and regional needs. Meet with Raw Materials, and Sourcing teams to review production fabric and cost issues. Work daily with cross functional teams to follow up on all preproduction updates. Meet with Technical design team for fitting and construction as needed. Provide design vision and sketch references for fit and appearance of product. Communicate daily on development emails and design updates.

External: Select fabric, and trims. Develop a working rapport with vendors and material suppliers.

DECISION MAKING: Daily decisions regarding production issues: color, fabric, trim approvals; these decisions affect the overall quality and outcome of the product. Collaborate with design director on product needs for each style to drive sales. Collaborate with technical design team on design vision for fit of all products. 

RESOURCEFULNESS/CREATIVITY: Able to design and handle multiple seasons at one time. Maintain consistent high quality of product from season to season, vendor to vendor. Flexible in design approach to meet sales needs while still providing newness to products. Willing to make changes as needed to meet evolving business needs. Must be very organized and detailed to effectively follow up on preproduction approvals. Highly creative in design to provide newness.

ENVIRONMENT:  Must be willing and able to work late to meet design deadlines. Travel as needed for product development.

Pay Range:$76,300---$103,100

PVH currently provides base salary ranges for all positions-on job advertisements-in the United States based on local requirements. These ranges are based on what PVH reasonably believes that it will pay an associate for their base salary for said position at the time of the posting. Individual compensation will ultimately be determined based on a variety of relevant factors including but-not limited to qualifications, geographic location and other relevant skills.
