As an Associate Advisor, you will work with the Investment Advisor team and be responsible for providing proactive advice and support to our clients and the Investment Advisor, helping deepen existing relationships and welcome new clients to the firm. Identifying new opportunities and helping to grow the business will be a key and exciting part of your role.

What will you do?

• Assist customers in the development of investment strategies and selecting the best products to support such strategies.
• Support cross-sells of banking services and counsels customers on financial matters and investment instruments.
• Expand existing relationships and develops new customer relationships through prospecting, networking, and referrals.
• Establish individual financial plans and helps customers build investment portfolios, including stocks, bonds, mutual funds, etc. based on financial needs and objectives.
• Manage client relationships by preparing for and leading meetings, effectively responding to client account inquiries and taking ownership of follow-ups.
• Help build and execute business plans, Wealth Management objectives and client service plans.
• Nurture and manage valuable relationships with Centers of Influence (COIs) and RBC partners.
• Conduct ongoing research on markets and investments and provide regular updates to the advisory team.
• Execute on the team’s formal business development strategy and identify opportunities for asset consolidation and referrals across the existing client base.

What do you need to succeed?

Must Have

• Licensed with CIRO as a Registered Representative
• CFP license
• Relationship management and financial planning experience
• Must have minimum of 5 years relative industry experience managing clients and creating financial plans
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English
• Strong skills working with business applications/technology, including Microsoft Office Suite

Nice to Have

• 4 years or more of professional experience within the investment industry
• Meticulous attention to detail and strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Highly developed client service skills
