Job Description
The Specialised Investigation Team (SIT) sits within Investigation & Intelligence, Group Compliance and conducts complex and specialist financial crime investigations. These include network investigations and reviews relating to areas such as correspondent banking, trade-based money laundering, sanctions, PEPs, tax evasion, shell companies, intelligence-led themes, and scam networks.
SIT uses data analytics models and tools to support the identification, prioritisation and investigation of potentially significant financial crime risks.
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced AML professional to join SIT’s AML Analytics Excellence & Integration Team and support the governance, reporting and operational enablement of SIT’s data analytics capabilities.
This is a forward-looking role focused on strengthening portfolio visibility, management insights, delivery discipline and user enablement across SIT’s data analytics landscape. The successful candidate will bring together model, enhancement, investigation and operational information to support effective oversight, prioritisation and decision-making.
Working closely with the Lead, AML Analytics Excellence & Integration, the candidate will coordinate the team’s governance and reporting processes and act as SIT’s business coordination lead for the case management tool. The role will collaborate with SIT users, other team members, product owners, project teams and technology stakeholders to translate user needs into clear requirements and coordinate changes through testing, deployment, validation and fulfilment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Lead, AML Analytics Excellence & Integration in establishing the team’s governance, reporting and operating rhythm.
- Maintain a consolidated view of SIT’s AML analytics portfolio, including initiatives, performance, risks, dependencies, decisions and intended outcomes.
- Develop clear dashboards, management reports and insights to support portfolio oversight, prioritisation and decision-making.
- Coordinate governance forums and maintain records of decisions, actions, owners, target dates, risks and issues.
- Establish consistent templates and definitions for portfolio reporting, enhancement tracking and benefits measurement.
- Consolidate model, investigation and operational information into concise and actionable management insights.
- Act as SIT’s business coordination lead for requirements and change requests relating to the case management tool.
- Engage SIT users to gather and translate operational needs into clear, structured and testable business requirements.
- Coordinate prioritisation, user acceptance testing, deployment readiness, user communication and post-deployment validation.
- Track requirements and change requests through delivery, validation and closure, escalating material delays, defects and dependencies.
- Collaborate with the wider AML Analytics Excellence & Integration Team to align governance, reporting and case-management changes with intelligence, model enhancement and portfolio priorities.
- Maintain a central knowledge and lessons-learned repository to support transparency, continuity and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Practical experience conducting AML investigations or supporting AML investigative and operational processes.
- Experience in AML governance, management reporting, business analysis, programme coordination or change delivery.
- Good understanding of AML investigations, data analytics models and case-management workflows.
- Ability to consolidate complex information into clear management insights, dashboards and decision materials.
- Experience gathering and translating user needs into structured, testable business requirements.
- Familiarity with change-request management, user acceptance testing, deployment readiness and post-implementation validation.
- Experience coordinating across business users, investigators, analytics, product, project and technology stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, organisational and stakeholder-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail in tracking requirements, decisions, risks, dependencies and delivery outcomes.
- Clear written and verbal communication, including the ability to present complex matters concisely to management.
Preferred Experience
- Experience supporting AML data analytics, model-enhancement or case-management initiatives.
- Experience developing portfolio dashboards, governance reports and senior-management materials.
- Experience preparing business requirements, acceptance criteria and user-testing materials.
- Strong Excel, PowerPoint, dashboarding or data-visualisation capabilities.
- Experience coordinating system changes from requirements gathering through deployment and outcome review.
- Familiarity with knowledge management, benefits tracking or portfolio-governance practices.
- Relevant AML, financial crime, business analysis, project management, change management or data analytics certification would be advantageous.

The role is suited to someone who can strengthen governance and delivery discipline while enabling SIT’s data analytics capabilities to generate sustained investigative and operational value.
