Job Summary:

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) is looking for an experienced and innovative museum or exhibition curator to lead the operations and public engagement activities of the Group’s reimagined finance museum, which is slated to open in the second quarter of 2027.

As the AVP/VP - Community Engagement, the seasoned storyteller will oversee the launch and ongoing evolution of the finance museum, supporting the delivery of immersive and impactful visitor experiences through relevant themes and creative content that underscore HKEX’s strategic vision to build a multi-asset ecosystem for Hong Kong’s markets. The individual will also be a self-starter, who proactively engages with stakeholders across our community, including schools, universities and other local organisations, designing collaboration opportunities with the museum that drive deeper awareness of Hong Kong’s financial markets and building excitement towards the future market development.

HKEX is redeveloping its finance museum – located inside the iconic HKEX Connect Hall – as part of a broader programme to establish its permanent headquarters at Exchange Square, enabling enhancements that will provide a more impactful visitor experience to HKEX for key events and listing ceremonies, significantly elevating community connectivity and accessibility to HKEX. For the first time, the museum will be open to the public for individual visits and will feature a gift shop with branded souvenirs and collectibles.

Reporting to the Head of the Corporate Communications Management Office, the successful candidate will lead a dedicated team to develop the museum’s operational policies, oversee daily operations and manage the evolution of the content delivery, build cross sector community partnerships and curate group visits, helping elevate financial literacy whilst sharing HKEX’s heritage, forward-looking narrative and brand story with the public.

The successful candidate will be well-networked, and have experience in museum or exhibition curation, as well as areas such as community outreach, brand and reputation management, and content development. We are looking for a dedicated team player with strong attention to detail and who is passionate about telling the story of Hong Kong’s vibrant markets.

HKEX’s Corporate Communications Division is responsible for shaping the Group’s brand visibility and helping drive external and internal engagements and awareness that help protect and enhance the reputation of its business. We are committed to proactively communicating HKEX’s strategy and its latest developments, maintaining the Group’s high standards of transparency and managing HKEX’s relations with key stakeholder groups. The Corporate Communications Division oversees Financial and Executive Communications, Media Relations and Social Media, Internal and Digital Communications, Brand, Content and Speechwriting, Executive Engagements and Events, Film Production, and Translation.

Job Duties:

Job Responsibilities

 

• Leading the day‑to‑day museum management, visitor services, tour arrangements and souvenir shop coordination.
• Curate outreach programmes and tour experiences, such as themed workshops and presentations, to promote financial market awareness, share HKEX and Hong Kong market heritage and milestones 
• Build and deepen relations with schools, professional bodies, community groups and other local organisations, to develop collaboration opportunities that drive awareness.
• Bring the museum vision to life, telling the story of Hong Kong’s status as a global financial hub and the continuous development of HKEX’s markets.

• Incorporate visitor and stakeholder feedback, guided by corporate strategic developments, to renew content and develop rotating thematic exhibitions  

 

Qualifications

 

• University educated, preferably in communications, social sciences or related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in museum or exhibition operations, community engagement, stakeholder management, content development, or related areas.
• Excellent spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua), with strong presentation & networking skills.
• Understanding of financial markets would be a plus.
• Solid project management skills to manage multiple priorities and a proven self starter.
• Customer‑focused, creative, organised, detail‑oriented with good problem‑solving abilities.
• Occasional flexible hours required for weekend events and opening activities.
