We are looking for an experienced Assistant Manager – Java Full Stack to contribute to the design, development, and support of scalable software applications and enterprise-grade systems. The role combines strong hands-on engineering expertise with technical ownership, cross-functional collaboration, mentoring, and a focus on building robust and observable systems.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in Java backend development and modern frontend technologies, along with a solid understanding of microservices, distributed systems, databases, APIs, and cloud-based applications.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support scalable Java-based microservices and user interfaces.
  • Build robust backend services using Java and frameworks such as Spring Boot.
  • Develop responsive and maintainable frontend applications using ReactJS or other modern JavaScript frameworks.
  • Collaborate with product, UX, engineering, and other cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality features.
  • Translate business and user requirements into actionable technical tasks and own deliverables from development through deployment.
  • Design loosely coupled, scalable, and maintainable microservices architectures.
  • Work with relational databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL, including schema design and query optimization.
  • Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and distributed systems.
  • Implement technical and operational metrics to monitor system health, performance, and reliability.
  • Improve system observability through effective monitoring, logging, alerting, and performance tracking.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and production support activities when required.
  • Conduct code reviews and promote high standards of code quality, automated testing, and engineering best practices.
  • Mentor junior and peer engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
  • Evaluate and appropriately use AI-powered development and automation tools while following organisational policies.
  • Contribute to Agile development practices and continuous improvement of engineering processes.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • 9–12 years of hands-on software engineering experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Java and related frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, ORM frameworks, and enterprise Java applications.
  • Strong experience with ReactJS or modern JavaScript frameworks such as Vue or Angular.
  • Strong knowledge of relational databases, particularly MySQL and PostgreSQL, including schema and query design.
  • Experience developing RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
  • Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures and algorithms.
  • Experience designing scalable and loosely coupled software systems.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, mentoring, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in AdTech, programmatic advertising, or real-time bidding platforms.
  • Strong experience with Spring Boot and the broader Spring ecosystem.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS.
  • Familiarity with modern DevOps and infrastructure tools such as Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with data streaming technologies such as Apache Kafka, AWS Kinesis, SNS, or SQS.
  • Experience working with highly scalable, mission-critical systems.
  • Experience with system monitoring, observability, and production operations.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a technically strong full-stack engineer who can take ownership of complex engineering problems while supporting team members through mentoring and collaboration. You should be comfortable working across backend, frontend, databases, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and production systems, with a pragmatic approach to solving challenges at scale.
