About this Assistant Manager - Business Development & Pitch Support | Financial Services role at Interpath Advisory
About Interpath
Interpath is a leading independent advisory firm, supporting clients across complex business challenges and opportunities including M&A, restructuring, transformation, transactions and performance improvement.
Our Financial Services team is a growing practice with colleagues across the UK and India, supporting clients across a broad range of financial services sectors.
As we continue to grow, we are looking for an Assistant Manager – Business Development & Pitch Support to join our Financial Services team in Gurugram.
About the role
This is a business development, research and pitch support role, aligned primarily to our Financial Services M&A team and working closely with colleagues across Financial Services Debt Advisory and Loan Portfolio Due Diligence.
You will work closely with Partners, Directors and Managers across the UK, supporting them in identifying opportunities, developing market insights and preparing high-quality materials to help win new business.
The role is not a deal execution role. Instead, you will sit close to the front end of transactions and gain exposure to how opportunities are identified, researched and ultimately converted into client engagements.
Requirements
What you will do
Pitch & Business Development
- Develop high-quality, client-facing pitch decks, credentials presentations, proposals and other business development materials.
- Translate a Partner or Director's brief into clear, compelling and commercially relevant presentation material.
- Support the preparation of proposals and RFP responses.
- Maintain and develop the team's credentials and case study library.
- Ensure high standards of presentation, formatting, accuracy and brand compliance.
Research & Market Intelligence
- Conduct company, sector and market research across financial services.
- Develop sector maps, target lists, buyer/investor universes and market intelligence.
- Research company ownership, shareholders, funding history, transaction history and relevant market activity.
- Track M&A and broader financial services market developments.
- Turn research and data into concise, actionable insights that can support client conversations and business development.
Thought Leadership
- Support the development of financial services thought leadership, market reports, sector insights and points of view.
- Research emerging trends and themes across financial services and translate them into meaningful client-facing content.
- Help develop compelling narratives and insights rather than simply presenting data.
Pipeline & Stakeholder Management
- Maintain accurate business development and opportunity pipeline information.
- Prepare materials for pipeline and business development meetings.
- Track actions and follow up with relevant stakeholders.
- Work directly with senior stakeholders across London, Manchester and Leeds.
- Manage multiple requests and deadlines while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
What we're looking for
We are looking for someone who combines strong research capability, excellent PowerPoint skills and commercial thinking.
Essential experience
- Relevant experience in business development, pitch support, research, strategy, investment banking, corporate finance, transaction advisory or a similar professional services environment.
- Demonstrable experience creating high-quality client-facing pitch decks, presentations, proposals or credentials materials.
- Experience contributing to thought leadership, industry reports, market insights, white papers or similar content.
- Strong experience in company, market and sector research and the ability to turn research into meaningful insights.
- Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills.
- Excellent written and verbal English.
- Ability to work with senior stakeholders and manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
- Willingness to work with UK-based teams and maintain a daily overlap with UK business hours.
Desirable
- Experience within the Financial Services sector, including banking, insurance, asset & wealth management, fintech, payments, specialty lending or related areas.
- Exposure to M&A, Debt Advisory, transaction services or other deal-related environments.
- Experience working with international stakeholders across different locations and time zones.
- Familiarity with market and financial databases such as Capital IQ, PitchBook, Bloomberg, Refinitiv, Mergermarket or similar platforms.
- CFA, MBA, CA or another relevant professional qualification.
What will make you successful?
We are particularly interested in people who can demonstrate three things:
1. Pitch Decks
You can take a brief from a senior stakeholder and turn it into a polished, compelling and client-ready presentation.
2. Thought Leadership
You can understand a market or industry theme, develop a point of view and communicate it through high-quality written and visual content.
3. Research
You can go beyond collecting information — you can identify what matters, interpret the findings and turn them into insights that support a commercial conversation.
You should be comfortable asking, "What is the question we're really trying to answer?" and "So what does this mean for the client or the business?"
Why join us?
This is an opportunity to work closely with senior Financial Services professionals across the UK and gain exposure to the origination side of M&A and advisory work.
You will have the opportunity to develop your understanding of financial services markets, contribute to high-profile pitches and thought leadership, and play an important role in supporting the continued growth of our Financial Services practice.
If you are someone who enjoys research, storytelling, creating impactful presentations and working closely with senior stakeholders, we'd love to hear from you.
