About the location:

Four Seasons Resort and Residences Dominican Republic at Tropicalia will feature 95 keys and 25 branded residential homes, 8 distinct F&B outlets, all thoughtfully designed to reflect a contemporary interpretation of the Dominican Republic’s natural beauty. Wellness will be a defining pillar of the property, delivering a holistic experience that harmonizes with the natural environment while enhancing overall wellbeing through the restorative power of nature. The sustainable luxury destination is located on a 60-acre (24 hectare) site along the pristine beachfront of Playa Esmeralda in northeastern Dominican Republic, along the southern shores of Samaná Bay. A site of breathtaking natural beauty, Tropicalia is home to a diverse ecosystem of white-sand beaches; crystalline, aquamarine water and coral reefs; mountains, forests, mangroves, lagoons and rivers; a working coconut plantation; and an organic farm.

What You Will Do

• Support the Director of Engineering in leading all engineering, maintenance, and utilities operations for a pre-opening ultra-luxury resort and branded residences.

• Drive the successful commissioning, testing, and handover of all building systems, equipment, and infrastructure before opening.

• Establish preventive maintenance programs, engineering standards, operating procedures, and asset management strategies.

• Ensure the reliability, efficiency, and safety of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and life-safety systems.

• Lead, coach, and develop the Engineering team, building a high-performance and service-oriented culture from pre-opening through operations.

• Manage engineering projects, contractor relationships, and capital improvement initiatives while maintaining quality, timelines, and budgets.

• Partner closely with Resort Operations, Residences, Security, Sustainability, and Finance teams to deliver exceptional owner and guest experiences.

• Champion environmental stewardship, energy optimization, water conservation, and sustainable operating practices suitable for a remote, low-density destination.

• Ensure full compliance with local regulations, health and safety requirements, brand standards, and luxury hospitality best practices.

What You Will Bring

• Proven leadership experience in Engineering management within luxury hotels, resorts, or mixed-use hospitality developments.

• Pre-opening experience in a luxury or ultra-luxury hospitality environment is strongly preferred.

• Strong technical expertise across building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, water treatment, power generation, and life-safety systems.

• Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, manage complex projects, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.

• Excellent financial acumen, including budgeting, CAPEX planning, cost control, and contractor management.

• Fluency in English and Spanish (written and spoken) is required.

• A degree or professional qualification in Engineering or a related technical discipline, with a strong commitment to safety, sustainability, and service excellence.
