The Assistant Dean, Non-Clinical Programs supports the Dean in providing strategic, academic, and administrative leadership for the College’s non-clinical undergraduate and graduate programs (online and ground) in Psychology, Behavioral Health Science, and Mental Health and Wellness. This role advances academic quality and program integrity through faculty and staff leadership, curriculum oversight, program review, and continuous improvement; addresses student and personnel concerns; and supports strategic planning, budgeting, policy implementation, regulatory compliance, and program growth. The Assistant Dean builds collaborative internal and external partnerships while advancing academic excellence, student success, innovation, workforce responsiveness, and the University’s Christian mission and values.

What you will do: 

• Promote and model a Christ-centered worldview in all aspects of leadership, decision-making, and academic and faculty engagement

• Help foster a strong sense of community, professionalism, and shared purpose among faculty, staff, and students

• Support the development of Christian character, ethical leadership, and professional responsibility within wide variety of career fields

• Encourage integration of faith and learning across curriculum, instruction, and student engagement

• Responsible for supervision, development, performance assessment, and management of full-time faculty, adjunct faculty and staff associated with the non-clinical, undergraduate and graduate programs in Psychology, Behavioral Health Science, Mental Health and Wellness, and related fields in ground and online platforms.

• Responsible for recruiting, interviewing, hiring, staffing, and managing all non-clinical full-time faculty, adjunct faculty, and staff in Psychology, Behavioral Health Science, Mental Health and Wellness, and related fields in ground and online platforms.

• Responsible for continued development and implementation of Work for Credit university initiative in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences.

• Provide oversight of the Changing Lives Outreach program in collaboration with the coordinator and faculty supporting the continuing development and implementation.

• Responsible for addressing and resolving all student and faculty issues in the non-clinical programs in Psychology, Behavioral Health Science, Mental Health and Wellness, and related fields in ground and online platforms.

• Provide oversight of planning, developing, and implementing curriculum and quality instruction for the non-clinical behavioral health programs.

• Develop and support external partnerships and communities with industry leaders that promote and support the college.

• Assist the dean in budget development, fiscal monitoring, and other related administrative activities as they relate to the college holistically.

• Other duties as assigned.

What you will need:

• Doctorate in Psychology, Behavioral Health, or related field.

• Three years of industry-related experience.

• Two years of full-time experience in post-secondary education.

• Collaborative experience with behavioral health agencies and related industry partners preferred.

• Experience teaching both traditional and non-traditional students and some level of post-secondary leadership or administrative experience preferred.

• Management/leadership level industry experience that includes supervision of direct reports preferred.

• Must successfully pass a background check.

• Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.
