About the Role

The Destinus engineering team is seeking an Assembly & Integration Technician to carry out the final assembly, integration, and packing of solid rocket motors at our Lucerne facility. This is a hands-on production role at the end of the manufacturing chain, where propellant grains, mechanical components, and initiators come together into a finished, certified product ready for delivery.

The ideal candidate is a skilled and careful mechanical technician who is equally at home reading an assembly drawing and using precision hand tools. They follow procedures exactly, document their work thoroughly, and understand that in an energetic product environment there is no room for improvisation.

What You’ll Do

  • Assemble and integrate solid rocket motor components following assembly procedures, drawings, and work instructions in detail
  • Carry out mechanical fitting, torquing, sealing, and bonding operations as part of the final motor assembly process
  • Perform pre- and post-assembly inspections, verify component identities, lot numbers, and conformance before and after each assembly step
  • Complete assembly records and documentation accurately and in full for every unit produced, maintain traceability of all components and sub-assemblies
  • Pack finished rocket motors and energetic sub-assemblies for internal transfer or external delivery in accordance with applicable transport regulations (ADR/SDR) and packing procedures
  • Handle and store energetic components (propellant grains, initiators) in compliance with applicable safety protocols and site procedures
  • Support incoming inspection of mechanical parts and sub-assemblies; flag non-conformances and quarantine suspect items
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe assembly area at all times, contribute to continuous improvement of assembly processes and procedures

Requirements

What You’ll Need

  • Completed vocational training as a Polymechaniker/in, Produktionsmechaniker/in, or equivalent or comparable hands-on experience
  • Several years of hands-on experience in precision mechanical assembly, ideally in a regulated or safety-critical environment such as aerospace, defence, medical devices, or weapons/ammunition manufacturing
  • Confident with precision hand tools and measuring instruments; experience with torque tools, adhesives, sealants, and mechanical fitting operations
  • Able to read and work from assembly drawings, exploded views, and written work instructions with a high degree of accuracy
  • Meticulous documentation habits working with assembly records and full component traceability
  • Experience handling or assembling products containing energetic, pyrotechnic, or otherwise hazardous materials is a strong advantage
  • Careful, disciplined, and procedure-driven, someone who does not cut corners and takes personal accountability for the quality of every unit leaving the facility
  • Fluent in German or English

Who You Are

You are hands-on, precise, and take pride in getting every detail right. You work methodically, follow procedures without cutting corners, and understand the responsibility that comes with assembling safety-critical products. You stay focused under pressure, take ownership of the quality of your work, and enjoy solving practical challenges alongside the team. Reliability, discipline, and high standards are simply how you operate.
