About this Art Direct + Copywriter (Team) role at Cocollective
Two heads are better than one.
co:collective is hiring an art director + copywriter team in NYC who believe brands should be less advertising-y and more action-y.
To be clear: this isn't a content role. We're not looking for someone to keep the feed full. We need a team that can deliver THE IDEA: the platform-defining, culture-moving concept that generates a hundred pieces of content.
What we mean by "the idea":
Think REI closing on Black Friday for #OptOutside. Or CVS walking away from tobacco sales to align with its purpose. Or Patagonia transferring ownership to a trust and nonprofit that focuses on the Earth. Those weren't posts. They were bold business decisions turned into action that captured public attention. We call it STORYDOING rather than storytelling.
You might be our team if you have:
→ Built brand campaigns and platforms from strategic insight to launch
→ Turned brand purpose into actions people can see, join and discuss (not just new logos or manifesto videos)
→ Made work that earns media and attention, not just impressions
→ 5+ years in a creative agency, focused on strategic concepting
→ A home base in NYC, or a willingness to relocate
What you'll do here:
→ Translate strategic insights into memorable experiences that don't fit in a traditional media box
→ Build ideas big enough to span brand, culture, experiences and partnerships
→ Push every brief past "fine" to "wild"
→ Make one truly memorable campaign instead of dozens of forgettable assets
We're hiring as a team: copywriter + art director. Not website writers. Not brochure art directors.
