The AME Leader – Blade Post-Molding Process & Equipment will lead advanced manufacturing engineering activities for blade post-molding operations across Wind blade Manufacturing. This role is responsible for developing, standardizing, and industrializing post-molding processes, tooling, and equipment to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance while supporting current production and future product introductions.Job Description
Role Summary
This leader will own the AME strategy and execution for blade post-molding process and equipment, including post-mold handling, cutting & Grinding, finishing, assembly -related process interfaces, process capability improvement, and technology deployment. The role will support engineering NTIs, factory launches, standardization, and chronic issue resolution while building technical capability across sites.
Essential Responsibilities
- Lead advanced manufacturing engineering activities for blade post-molding process and equipment across applicable wind blade manufacturing sites.
- Develop and define post-molding manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures, and equipment to support engineering NTIs and product launches.
- Lead automation and technology projects related to blade post-molding operations.
- Own and drive standardization of best-known methods, tooling concepts, equipment design, and process controls across plants toward 1P1P.
- Lead specification development, sourcing support, FAT/SAT, commissioning, process validation, and operational handoff for post-molding equipment.
- Ensure equipment and process solutions meet throughput, quality, ergonomic, and safety requirements.
- Support factory launch of NTIs and capacity ramp-up for new blade platforms or process changes.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for chronic technical manufacturing issues.
- Provide manufacturing input into product development and support DFM/DFA improvements.
- Drive improvements in OEE, labor productivity, factory utilization, scrap reduction, and manufacturing cost.
- Build technical capability, training, and knowledge sharing in blade post-molding methods and equipment
- Foster a strong culture of safety, quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related technical discipline
- Significant experience in manufacturing engineering, industrialization, blade manufacturing, tooling/equipment engineering, or advanced manufacturing in a complex industrial environment
- Experience with process development, equipment deployment, validation, FAT/SAT, and production ramp-up
- Experience leading technical teams and cross-functional projects
- Strong problem-solving, project management, and stakeholder management skills
Desired Characteristics
- Experience in wind blade manufacturing, composites manufacturing, post-molding operations, finishing systems, or heavy industrial production
- Strong lean manufacturing and continuous improvement mindset
- Knowledge of PFMEA, control plans, process capability, validation methods, and structured problem solving
- Ability to influence across functions and standardize solutions across multiple sites
- Strong focus on execution and measurable business outcomes
