The Akeneo System Administrator is responsible for the administration, configuration, maintenance, and operational support of the Akeneo Product Information Management (PIM) platform. This role ensures platform stability, security, performance, and data governance while supporting product information workflows, integrations, and business operations. The position partners with business stakeholders, product teams, architects, and external vendors to enable scalable and reliable product data management capabilities. 

Key Responsibilities

Platform Administration

  • Administer and maintain Akeneo PIM environments.
  • Configure and manage product families, attributes, categories, channels, locales, asset families, and reference entities.
  • Support platform upgrades, releases, and environment management. 

User & Security Management

  • Manage user accounts, roles, permissions, and access controls.
  • Ensure compliance with security standards and governance policies.
  • Support audit and access review activities. 

Data & Governance

  • Support product data modelling, taxonomy management, and governance processes.
  • Monitor data quality and assist with data migration, import, and export activities.
  • Implement validation and enrichment rules to ensure data consistency. 

Integrations & Operations

  • Support integrations between Akeneo and enterprise systems including MDM, SDM, DAM, ERP, eCommerce, and downstream applications.
  • Monitor platform health, scheduled jobs, APIs, and data pipelines.
  • Troubleshoot incidents and perform root cause analysis for production issues. 

Documentation & Continuous Improvement

  • Create and maintain operational procedures, support runbooks, and platform documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve platform performance, usability, and operational efficiency.
  • Support Agile delivery and release activities. 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience administering Akeneo PIM or similar Product Information Management platforms.
  • Experience with REST APIs, JSON/XML, integrations, and data management concepts.
  • Knowledge of product data models, taxonomy, and metadata management.
  • Experience with SQL, Git, CI/CD tools, and monitoring platforms. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Akeneo PIM administration experience.
  • Experience with Digital Asset Management (DAM), MDM, or eCommerce platforms.
  • Experience supporting cloud-based enterprise applications.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
