Overview

Assures quality and conformity in software development with minimal bugs introduced in released software developed using Agile methodology

Key Responsibilities

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

• Applies knowledge of engineering principles to test and verify software applications and GUI’s
• Support the development organization by; developing reusable and precise test specification cases, processes, and standards, ensuring accuracy of test results
• Enjoys working with scientists and engineers to create innovative solutions
• Interest in or experience developing and executing automated tests, investigate and assist in problem analysis, and resolution of delivered software components
• Provide technical support to internal program users
• Work closely with developers/test engineers to reduce regression time and create automated processes
• Work directly with internal customers, including data analysts and production and field service technicians to develop robust test solutions
• Play an integral role in the Agile software development lifecycle
• Accelerate the innovation and delivery of products
• Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases
• Collaborate with developers, reviewing plans and designs to ensure testability of code
• Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test methodologies
• Develop and execute a complete test strategy for assigned products and features including verification of functionality, performance, security and scalability
• Analyze and decompose a complicated software system and design a strategy to test this system
• Analyze testing results to enhance future test plans and scenarios (Including metrics and benchmarks to gauge improvement)
• Pro-active investigation/verification of production defects and continuous improvement of regression tests

Experience

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and or equivalent industry experience
• 5 years of experience as a Software Test Engineer
• Experience with Agile development methodologies
• Experience with Jenkins or similar automated build systems
• Experience with creating and executing test plans and test cases
• Experience with the following types of testing: Data validation, Functional, Usability, Integration

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of test automation, test automation software, and frameworks
• Strong knowledge of testing best practices
• Solid understanding of relational databases, e. SQL server
• Working knowledge of object-oriented programming and test-driven development
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Good Customer Service skills
• Flexible and adaptable (willing to work on other technical problems as needed
