Technology Leadership Program (TLP)

The Technology Leadership Program (TLP) is Vanguard's premier two-year rotational development program designed to build future technology leaders. Participants complete three high-visibility, eight-month rotations across Vanguard's technology organization while developing technical expertise, business acumen, and leadership capabilities. The program includes mentorship, leadership development, and opportunities to earn technical certifications. The start date for this program is August 2027.

What You'll Learn

• Build technical depth through hands-on rotational experiences
• Develop leadership and business acumen

• Gain exposure to modern engineering, cloud, infrastructure, investment systems, and cybersecurity practices

What It Takes

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field
• Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving ability
• Demonstrated leadership experience and/or leadership potential
• Cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher preferred

IT College-to-Corporate (C2C) Internship Program

The IT College-to-Corporate Internship Program is a paid 10-week summer internship designed to provide meaningful hands-on technology experience. Interns work on real business challenges, contribute to impactful projects, and gain exposure to Vanguard's technology organization while building the skills needed for future technology careers.

IT Co-op Program

Vanguard's IT Co-op Program offers students the opportunity to gain extended hands-on experience while working alongside technology professionals on meaningful business initiatives. Co-op participants develop technical skills, professional capabilities, and an understanding of how technology supports Vanguard's mission. This is a 6 month opportunity that starts in January 2027 in our Charlotte and Dallas locations and a start date of March 2027 for our Malvern location.

Application Engineer Technology Program (AETP)

Vanguard Application Engineers work on modern cloud-based applications and platforms that support more than 50 million clients worldwide who trust us to safeguard their investments. Build your technical and strategic skills while working alongside technology professionals across the business.

As an Application Engineer, you will:

• Design and develop front-end and back-end technology solutions
• Support test-driven development practices
• Build and enhance continuous delivery pipelines
• Develop scalable applications using modern engineering practices
• Work with cloud technologies and modern development frameworks
• Collaborate with Agile teams to deliver impactful client and business solutions

The Application Engineer Technology Program develops new application engineers during their first year at Vanguard through intentional programming that cultivates community, accelerates technical upskilling, and supports career development.

What It Takes

• Undergraduate degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 0-3 years of relevant experience
• Interest in software engineering, cloud technologies, and application development
• Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills
