About this Aerodynamics Engineer (Military Derivatives) role at Airbus
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Aerodynamic Data engineer to join our team in Getafe. As an Aerodynamic Data engineer, you will be contributing directly to the manufacturing and in-service support of our entire fleet of current and future aircraft, through the generation and analysis of aerodynamic data for loads, handling qualities and performance purposes. For this you will participate in wind tunnel test campaigns and flight test; all of them carried out in the multidisciplinary and transnational environment of Flight Physics.
Key Responsibilities
- Post-processing and analysis of the aerodynamic data to provide comprehensive aerodynamic models and data on performance, handling qualities and loads in steady and unsteady mode.
- Defining, attending and analysing results of wind tunnel tests
- Ensure Flight Test Preparation, follow-up in telemetry room and data analysis.
- Ensure that optimised aerodynamic solutions and data are delivered to customers on TCQ (time, cost, quality).
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Master’s degree or PhD in Aerospace Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in an aerodynamic characterisation role within the aerospace industry.
- Strong experience in numerical aerodynamic prediction tools and in the generation of aerodynamic databases from experimental, Flight test and CFD data.
- Knowledge and experience in Python and Matlab will be valuable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team environment.
- Good level of communication in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Programming/scripting skills (e.g., Python, MATLAB) for process automation and data analysis
