Located in the beautiful Skyline Forest area overlooking Monterey Bay, our premier 99-bed skilled nursing facility is dedicated to providing top-quality post-acute and rehabilitative care.

💰 Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay Rate: $22.00 – $25.00 per hour (dependent on experience)
  • Job Type: Full-Time
  • Schedule: Primarily day shifts, with some weekend rotation required to support 24/7 facility intake coordination.

📋 Position Summary

As the Admissions Assistant, you will play a critical role in facilitating a seamless transition for new residents, patients, and their families entering our facility. Working closely with the Admissions Coordinator and medical team, you will guide families through the intake process, manage essential healthcare documentation, and ensure an exceptionally welcoming experience from day one.

🔑 Key Responsibilities

  • Inquiry & Intake Support: Field incoming phone calls and inquiries from hospitals, discharge planners, and families regarding placement availability.
  • Tours & Facility Representation: Conduct professional walkthroughs of our facility for prospective residents and their families.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Assist in coordinating, distributing, and securing all necessary admission agreements, medical records, and insurance disclosures.
  • Insurance Verification: Coordinate with our internal insurance experts to help verify coverage components (Medicare, Medi-Cal, PPOs, HMOs) for prospective inquiries.
  • Room Readiness: Collaborate closely with Housekeeping and Nursing teams to verify that incoming residents' rooms are fully prepared and welcoming prior to physical arrival.
  • Data Entry: Enter and update resident profiles promptly in the facility electronic medical record (EMR) system.

🛠️ Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of administrative or assistant experience, preferably within a skilled nursing facility, assisted living, or healthcare setting.
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; must have a compassionate approach when communicating with anxious or transitioning family members.
  • Technical Savvy: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable learning medical database software.
  • Language: Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
  • Attributes: High organizational capacity, capability to multitask, and a track record of maintaining strict resident confidentiality (HIPAA compliance).
