Pay Range:

The base pay range for this position is

$20.46-$32.84 Hourly

however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Job Title:  Administrative Assistant – Same Day Services

Work Schedule for this Position: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm

Position Overview:

The Administrative Assistant is responsible for assisting the professional caregiver in the delivery of patient care by performing a wide range of clerical and maintenance of the care unit desk area functions.  The administrative assistant coordinates the flow of communications on the patient care unit, tracks supply inventory, orders supplies, and provides customer service.  Demonstrates performance consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Pullman Regional Hospital, the relationship-based care guiding principles, the philosophy of care, goals of the unit and organization, and demonstrates quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice.

A Day in the Life:

  • Planning and prioritizing through a variety of clerical tasks that include organizing and prioritizing workload, greeting and directing visitors, researching information as requested by the care team, answering the telephone, provide clinical support assistance, and managing document control.  Coordinate patient arrival times and schedule procedural and infusion patients.
  • Gather information to contribute to a patient care delivery plan. Prepares patient charts with required and necessary information. 
  • Decision-making based upon appropriate stewardship and professional judgment, to assist with care coordination for each individual patient.
  • Communicate and collaborate to promote a therapeutic relationship with patients and colleagues. Maintains a professional attitude. 
  • Communicate with Charge RN, Director, and Clinical Coordinator effectively to ensure patient care and safety.  
  • Actively promotes and contributes to a safe and positive work environment. Encourages equitable division of workload.
  • Accountable to stay current with the changes in professional and hospital policy.
  • Completion of regulatory and departmental annual competencies within the timeframe set by the organization.
  • Accountable to demonstrate work effectiveness through safe completion of assigned tasks in a timely manner. Uses appropriate delegation to assist in patient care.
  • Follow high reliability practices set by the organization and report safety concerns.

  • Knowledge regarding quality improvement and standards within practice area.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills. 
  • Ability to function as a team member.
