Position Summary:

The Walter Scott, Jr. College of Engineering, seeks applications throughout the year from individuals who are interested in obtaining temporary teaching positions. Adjunct Faculty will provide instruction to undergraduate and graduate students in one of the topic areas listed below. These temporary positions may include teaching only one course or possibly more. Applicants to this pool are used to fill gaps in department curriculum and instruction. Not all applicants will be contacted regarding a teaching opportunity.

We are specifically seeking applicants who are able to teach courses related to the following topics:

  • Engineering Fundamentals

  • Atmospheric Science

  • Civil & Environmental Engineering

  • Construction Engineering

  • Electrical & Computer Engineering

  • Mechanical Engineering

  • Biomedical Engineering

  • Chemical Engineering

  • Systems Engineering

Description of Work Unit:

Founded in 1870, Colorado State University is among the nation’s leading research universities and enrolls approximately 32,000 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students. Located an hour north of the Denver metro area, Fort Collins is a vibrant community of approximately 157,000 residents that offers the convenience of a small town with all the amenities of a large city. Fort Collins is situated on the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains with views of 14,000 foot peaks, and offers access to numerous cultural, recreational, and outdoor opportunities.
 

The Walter Scott Jr. College of Engineering (WSCOE) at Colorado State University is a dynamic and diverse college comprising approximately 170 faculty, 300 postdoctoral scholars and research scientists, 95 academic and administrative staff, 2,500 undergraduate students, and 1,050 graduate students. The College is home to four academic departments serving both graduate and undergraduate students, two departments with graduate- only programs, two interdisciplinary degree-granting programs, and a federal cooperative research institute.
 

WSCOE prides itself on its “hands-on” experiential approach to engineering education, offering extensive laboratory and team-based coursework alongside research opportunities. A significant focus is placed on the success of all undergraduate students.

Salary Range:

$35,000 - $120,000

Essential Job Duties:

Instruction and Evaluation of Engineering course material.

Conditions of Employment:

Pre-employment criminal background check (required for new hires).

Supervision:

This position will not supervise employees.

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants for Instructor positions must hold a minimum of a Master’s Degree in an engineering or other related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

It is highly desirable that individuals have a doctoral degree in an engineering discipline and previous experience in teaching or training.
