Accounts Payable Analyst

Location:  Edinburgh (We believe in the power of in-person collaboration, and our hybrid model requires colleagues to be in the office a minimum of 40% of their time)  

Salary: A competitive salary from £33,520 - £41,900 depending on the experience you can bring

As an analyst within our IT business management team, you will play a key role in supporting the accounts payable function. You’ll be responsible for processing invoices, managing approval workflows, and ensuring accurate and timely transaction processing within a robust financial controls framework.

Working closely with both finance colleagues , wider business stakeholders and external suppliers, you’ll help maintain high standards of compliance and efficiency, while proactively identifying opportunities for process improvement. Your ability to manage multiple tasks, adapt to changing priorities, and keep meticulous records will be essential to your success in this busy, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Process supplier invoices and purchase orders, ensuring timely payment and compliance with financial controls and approval processes.
• Build effective working relationships with internal stakeholders, Finance, Procurement and external suppliers to resolve queries and support business objectives.
• Support budget planning, forecasting activities and cost control across Technology supplier relationships.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, increase efficiency and strengthen compliance within the accounts payable and business management framework
• Monitor technology partner spend, investigate budget variances and escalate issues where appropriate.
• Maintain accurate records including contracts, governance documentation, performance information and financial data.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

• Experience in accounts payable, transactional finance or a similar financial role.
• Proven ability to process invoices accurately and manage high-volume workloads while meeting deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records and work within established controls and governance frameworks.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy and changing environment.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to liaise with colleagues, suppliers and wider business teams.
• Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly, working independently and using initiative to resolve issues.
• Demonstrates a collaborative approach, adaptability and alignment to Aegon's values of integrity, community and alignment.

• We’re serious about your future and our enhanced pension scheme is now in place.  We ask you to contribute 3% of your salary to your pension and we’ll put in 9%.  If you decide to contribute more, we’ll match it up to a combined total of 20% of your salary (that’s 7% from you and 13% from us).
