On July 1, 2026, Apogee completed the acquisition of Kalwall Enterprises, a vertically integrated manufacturer of high-performance translucent daylighting solutions, based in Manchester, New Hampshire. Kalwall Enterprises is currently being integrated into the Architectural Glass segment in Apogee. This position is based on site at Kalwall Enterprises in Manchester, New Hampshire.

Position Summary

The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for leading the daily accounting operations for Kalwall Enterprises, including financial reporting, month-end close, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and banking activities. This role leads a team of accounting professionals and ensures the accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in compliance with U.S. GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements, and company policies.

As a key finance leader, the Accounting Supervisor oversees the accounting close process, maintains a strong internal control environment, supports finance integration and compliance initiatives, and drives continuous improvement across accounting processes. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, results-oriented leader with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a high level of attention to detail, and a commitment to operational excellence, team development, and continuous improvement.

1. Month-End Close & Financial Reporting

• Own the overall month-end close process, including delegation, oversight, review, and approval of journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Ensure the timely and accurate completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close activities.
• Prepare and review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, variance analyses, and other financial reporting schedules.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, company accounting policies, and financial reporting requirements.
• Execute and maintain assigned SOX controls, ensuring proper documentation and compliance.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve accounting processes through standardization, simplification, automation, and centralization.
• Investigate unusual transactions, balances, trends, and variances, and communicate findings and corrective actions to management.
• Support the preparation of information used in management reporting and consolidated financial statements.

2. Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable Management

• Oversee accounts receivable activities, including invoicing, cash application and customer account reconciliations.
• Ensure customer payments are applied accurately and timely.

• Oversee accounts payable operations, including invoice processing, payment approvals, vendor maintenance, and disbursement activities.
• Ensure vendor invoices are recorded accurately and paid in accordance with company policies and payment terms.

4. Banking & Cash Management

• Oversee daily banking activities and ensure the integrity of cash-related transactions.
• Review and approve wire transfers, ACH payments, positive pay transactions, and other treasury-related activities as authorized.
• Ensure timely completion and review of bank reconciliations.
• Monitor cash activity and support working capital and cash flow management initiatives.
• Partner with corporate treasury on account maintenance, controls, and documentation requirements.

5. People Leadership

• Lead, develop, and support the accounting team in achieving departmental and company objectives.
• Provide coaching, mentoring, and ongoing performance feedback to team members.
• Conduct formal performance evaluations and support employee development planning.
• Manage workforce planning, recruiting, onboarding and performance management.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and customer service.

6. Finance Integration & Compliance

• Support the Kalwall Controller and Apogee integration team in executing the finance integration roadmap, including transition to GAAP accounting, corporate reporting requirements, and SOX compliance.
• Assist with the implementation and execution of standardized month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Ensure alignment with corporate accounting policies, procedures, and reporting standards.
• Support training and change management efforts associated with finance integration initiatives.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on special projects.

7. Internal Controls, Audit & Process Improvement

• Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies and SOX requirements.
• Assist with internal and external audits and serve as a primary point of contact for auditors as needed.
• Investigate control deficiencies, identify root causes, and support remediation efforts.
• Lead or participate in projects focused on process improvement, system enhancements, and automation initiatives.
• Support implementation of new accounting standards, policies, methodologies, and reporting requirements.

Education and Skills Required

·         Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.

·         CPA certification or progress toward CPA preferred

·         Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, with previous supervisory experience strongly preferred

·         Knowledge of US GAAP and accounting principles

·         Strong experience in general ledger accounting, financial close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting

·         Experience managing accounts receivable, accounts payable, and banking/cash management processes preferred

·         Practical experience with Sarbanes-Oxley controls

·         Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills

·         Manufacturing experience strongly preferred

·         Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

·         Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

·         Ability to lead and develop a high-performing team
