Our lead product candidate, BHB-1893, is a next-generation oral small-molecule cardiac myosin inhibitor (CMI) being developed for the treatment of obstructive HCM (oHCM) and non-obstructive HCM (nHCM). Braveheart’s goal is to improve the treatment options for these patients by enhancing speed of onset, depth of gradient response, systolic safety, reversibility and reducing prescribing complexity.

The role:

 The Accounting Manager will own day-to-day accounting operations, support the month-end close process, and prepare clinical trial accruals for our fast-moving clinical-stage biotechnology company. Reporting to the Senior Director, Controller, this hands-on role will support internal controls, financial reporting, system implementations, and collaboration with finance, clinical operations, external vendors, and other cross-functional partners as Braveheart Bio continues to scale.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the monthly accounting close process, ensuring a timely, accurate close within external and internal reporting deadlines. Support FP&A budget to actual reporting.
  • Review journal entries and reconciliations prepared by accounting team members. Supervise, mentor, and develop junior accounting staff.
  • Own clinical trial accrual preparation including review of clinical contracts, CRO reports, patient costs, site costs, and invoices; liaise directly with internal stakeholders and clinical vendors to ensure accruals are complete, accurate, and timely.
  • Implement policies and procedures for accounting activities and functions. Maintain internal controls in areas of responsibility. Improve and streamline processes where appropriate.
  • Support annual audits, quarterly financial reviews, and internal controls testing. Support system implementations and other projects as needed.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, inclusion, execution excellence, effective communication and cross-functional problem-solving as a key member of a high-performing team.

Required experience & skills:

  • 5+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, with publicly traded, pre-IPO, or clinical stage biotech/life sciences companies preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
  • Deep technical accounting knowledge (US GAAP), including R&D accruals and clinical trial accounting.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of public company requirements, internal controls (SOX), and cross-functional alignment.
  • Experience supporting Big 4 or national firm audits.
  • Excellent judgment, high integrity, and the ability to operate in a fast-moving environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and remain comfortable with change and ambiguity.
  • Flexible, proactive, and hands-on mindset with a roll-up-your-sleeves, can-do attitude.

Preferred experience & skills:

  • CPA license preferred.
  • Public accounting experience preferred.
  • Experience with NetSuite preferred.

Base Salary Range: $125,000 - $145,000

This role is also eligible for a competitive total rewards package, which may include an annual bonus, equity, and a comprehensive benefits offering.
