About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Account Manager with a strong background in a Medical Communications and/or Medical Education agency to join our growing team.

This is an opportunity to take greater ownership of client accounts and projects, combining excellent project delivery with strong client relationships and commercial thinking. You’ll work collaboratively with colleagues across the business, help develop more junior members of the team, and play an active role in identifying opportunities to grow existing client relationships.

At Springer Health+, we want you to build a career, not simply do a job.

You’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Take increasing ownership of client relationships and accounts.
  • Broaden your experience across Medical Communications and Medical Education projects and therapy areas.
  • Develop your commercial skills through budgeting, forecasting and organic growth.
  • Contribute to new ideas, proposals and business development opportunities.
  • Build your people-management capabilities through supporting and mentoring junior colleagues.
  • Work alongside experienced colleagues across Springer Health+ and the wider Springer Nature organisation.
  • Continue progressing your career within a growing global medical communications and education business.

Role Responsibilities

Lead project delivery

  • Manage a varied portfolio of projects across one or more client accounts.
  • Take ownership of projects from client brief through to successful delivery.
  • Translate client briefs into clear plans, responsibilities and timelines for internal teams.
  • Lead project and status meetings, keeping clients and internal teams informed and aligned.
  • Anticipate project risks and challenges, recommending solutions and taking action to keep delivery on track.
  • Ensure projects are delivered to the high standards expected by both our clients and Springer Health+.

Build strong client relationships

  • Develop trusted, long-term relationships with client teams.
  • Build your understanding of clients’ products, therapy areas, markets and competitive environments.
  • Confidently lead client meetings and drive actions through to completion.
  • Provide thoughtful, solutions-focused advice and recommendations.
  • Identify issues early, understand their potential business impact and work with senior colleagues to resolve them effectively.

Own the commercial performance of your projects

  • Take responsibility for the financial management of assigned projects and accounts.
  • Develop and monitor accurate budgets and keep a close eye on time, costs and profitability.
  • Support sales and revenue forecasting and ensure projects meet agreed financial expectations.
  • Work with account teams to ensure projects are accurately reconciled and financially managed throughout their lifecycle.

Help grow our client partnerships

  • Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships and respond to evolving client needs.
  • Bring together the right expertise from across Springer Health+ to develop relevant and innovative solutions.
  • Contribute to proposals, RFIs, capability presentations and pitches.
  • Work alongside senior colleagues and the Business Development team to explore new opportunities with existing clients.

Support and develop others

  • Share your experience and best practice with less experienced colleagues.
  • Support the development and mentoring of junior team members.
  • Contribute to effective resource planning across your accounts.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across departments to make sure the right expertise and resource are in place to deliver for our clients.

Experience, Skills & Qualifications:

Essential

  • Previous relevant Account Manager-level experience within a Medical Communications and/or Medical Education agency.
  • Strong project and account management skills, with experience managing multiple projects and priorities.
