What You’ll Actually Do

Corporate Affairs proactively manages social, political and reputational risks and engages the workforce to advance the business. We strengthen Chevron's strategic advocacy, communications, and social investments to build confidence in our company and industry.

Communications

Communications supports and achieves Chevron’s goals by telling our story to key audiences to build an understanding of our industry and confidence in our knowledge, expertise and ability to achieve results the right way.

We are seeking a candidate(s) who can effectively create communications that engage external and internal audiences. Corporate Affairs interns may work on projects related to corporate media relations, employee communications, executive communications, digital and social media engagement, community partnerships, events, and brand management.

Policy and Government Affairs

Policy and Government Affairs leads and influences policy development and advocacy on behalf of the corporation with key public stakeholders at the state, federal and international government levels.

We are seeking a candidate(s) with an awareness of the implications of the US political structure and environment in which the energy sector operates. Also seeking experience in federal and/or international policy as well as an understanding of legislative and regulatory processes within the United States at the state and federal levels.

Policy and Government Affairs interns may work on projects related to analyzing policy/regulatory issues in countries where Chevron operates, provide support on advocacy initiatives on Chevron’s positions before government, trade, and other third-party organizations, and track and report on key U.S. and foreign policy issues in specific regions. When directed, interns will prepare responses to outside inquiries on Chevron's positions on issues and attend briefings and congressional hearings on foreign and domestic policy, legislative, or regulatory matters.

  • Houston, TX
  • Washington, DC

What You Must Have

The following qualifications are required:

  • To qualify, individuals must be a rising junior, rising senior, or graduate student and have or be pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree aligned with the Corporate Affairs functional areas.
  • Ability to demonstrate The Chevron Way.

  • Permanent U.S. work authorization required (no exceptions)  

Compensation & Benefits

The anticipated monthly (hourly) range for this position is $20/hour – $40/hour. The selected candidate’s monthly or hourly compensation will be determined based on their selected role, degree level and academic year.

As an intern, you will receive the following benefits:

  • Furnished housing.
  • Participation in Employee Savings Investment Plan with immediate vesting in both employee and company contributions.
    • Chevron matching contributions:
      • 4% company match for a 1% employee contribution.
      • 8% company match for a 2% employee contribution.
  • Work schedules:
    • Flexible work schedules (5/40, 9/80, or 4/10), as determined by the work group and confirmed with the hiring manager.
  • Paid holidays depending on your work schedule.
  • Full year of service credit for each internship completion (must be re-employed within 365 days)
