ALTEN Mexico as a subsidiary of the ALTEN Group is currently working with international clients, and we are looking for a Mechanical Engineer Sr who will contribute to the development of an Iron Air Battery, a large-scale energy storage solution, as mechanical DFX lead for cost, manufacturability, design integration, and technical delivery.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical work packages and allocate activities across the mechanical team.
- Develop and review redesign concepts for pack structures, roof/base skid, cell hardware, piping, fittings, scrubber vessel, and sustaining issues.
- Drive design reviews, problem resolution, supplier DFM discussions, and cross-functional decisions.
- Ensure designs maintain critical interfaces and backward compatibility where required.
- Review CAD, drawings, GD&T, tolerance analyses, BOMs, cost estimates, and validation plans.
- Coordinate FEA, CFD, plastics, materials, electrical, manufacturing, and sourcing inputs.
Requirements
Must‑Have Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics Engineering or related fields.
- 7+ years of mechanical product-development experience, including technical ownership of complex assemblies.
- Experience in product design from concept through detailed design, verification, release, and production support.
- Working knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, DFM/DFA, DFMEA, and engineering change control.
- Ability to communicate technical tradeoffs, risks, and recommendations across design, manufacturing, analysis, suppliers, and customers.
- Advanced SolidWorks capability for parts, assemblies, drawings, configurations, and design changes; experience with PLM/PDM and formal release processes.
- Demonstrated cost-reduction, supplier collaboration, and technical-leadership experience.
- Ability to combine CAD, CAE results, supplier feedback, validation planning, and cost data into design decisions.
- Experience with structures, sheet metal, welded assemblies, piping, fittings, plastics, tolerance analysis, and mechanical interfaces.
English level B2–C1.
