A million more roles: what just changed on the board
We started reading the hiring pages of 3,176 more employers this week, taking the board past 1.2 million live roles. What that adds, what it does not, and how to make it useful.
Over the past week we started reading the hiring pages of 3,176 more employers. The board now carries just over 1.2 million live roles, up from roughly 330,000. This is the single biggest change to our coverage since the site launched, so it is worth being precise about what it adds — and what it does not.
Their hiring pages are not new. Our coverage of them is.
None of these employers started hiring this week. Accenture, CVS Health, Target, PwC, Bank of America, NVIDIA, Salesforce, Mastercard, Adobe, Coca-Cola and Sony have all been posting openings for years, on their own career sites. What changed is that we now read those pages directly and index every live posting on them, the same way we already did for thousands of other employers.
That distinction matters. We are not a site that collects jobs submitted by recruiters, and we do not repost listings scraped from other job boards. Every role here links to the employer's own application page, because that is where we found it.
The most useful part is the salaries
Of the newly covered roles, 334,528 publish a pay figure up front — roughly a third. That is a direct consequence of pay-transparency rules in a number of US states and a growing number of countries, and it is the single most useful thing this release adds. You can now filter a very large share of these roles by what they actually pay, before spending an hour on an application.
Be clear about what kind of work this is
We would rather set the expectation correctly than oversell it. The newly covered roles skew heavily toward large employers in healthcare, retail, logistics and professional services, and they look different from the rest of the board:
About 94% are on-site roles tied to a specific store, hospital, warehouse or office. If you are looking specifically for remote work, this release adds comparatively little.
Roughly one in five is part-time, against about one in fifty across the rest of the board. A great deal of this is shift work.
Geographically it is weighted toward North America, because that is where these employers have the most locations.
None of that makes the roles less real. It does mean that if your search is for remote software work, your results will not have changed much — and if your search is for hourly, shift-based or field work near where you live, they may have changed enormously.
A note on the numbers we quote
The location counts below are distinct location strings as each employer writes them on its own postings, not countries. An employer with 4,357 locations has that many separately named workplaces, most of them in the same handful of countries. We do not publish a country count because we do not hold one we would trust.
Role counts are live counts taken at publication, not a cached figure. They will drift as postings open and close, which is the normal state of any job board that reflects reality.
What to do with it
If you searched here a month ago and found nothing worth applying to, the honest answer is that the employer you needed may simply not have been in our index yet. It is worth searching again.
If you would rather not check manually, save your search. We will match new postings against it as they arrive and tell you by email or Telegram, which is a better use of your time than refreshing a results page.
