Role Overview:

This is a Web Software Engineer role within Corporate Functions Technology, focused on delivery, QA, support and progressive development across TP ICAP’s Drupal-based websites. The successful candidate will help the Manila team provide reliable BAU support, build and test page components, support releases, implement approved Figma designs, assist with OneTrust and analytics-related website changes, and contribute to migration and modernisation activity. The role will also involve using approved AI-assisted development tools under senior guidance to support coding, debugging, documentation and QA activities, with an emphasis on learning how to use these tools responsibly and effectively within agreed development processes. The role suits a strong junior or developing mid-level engineer with good web fundamentals, a QA mindset and the ability to learn Drupal deeply under senior guidance.

Role Responsibilities:

Drupal Delivery & Website Support 

• Support development and maintenance of Drupal 9/10 websites across the web estate. 

• Build and configure content types, views, blocks, menus, taxonomies, pages and reusable components under guidance. 

• Assist with theme updates using Twig, HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript. 

• Support bug fixing, content-related development, page updates and BAU website requests. 

• Help maintain redirects, robots.txt exclusions, cache clearing and basic administrator support processes where appropriate. 

Testing, QA & Release Support 

• Use BrowserStack to test website changes across browsers, devices and responsive breakpoints. 

• Carry out regression, smoke, functional and visual QA checks before releases. 

• Validate that updates match approved Figma designs, including spacing, typography, responsive behaviour and interaction patterns. 

• Document test results, issues, steps to reproduce and release notes clearly. 

• Support DEV, TEST and LIVE deployment checks and post-release validation. 

• Use approved AI-assisted tools, where appropriate, to help draft test cases, summarise issues and support routine QA documentation, ensuring outputs are reviewed and validated before use.

Cookie, Analytics & Integrations Support 

• Assist with OneTrust cookie scans, consent-category checks and cookie notice updates when new tools or scripts are introduced. 

• Support implementation and QA of analytics tags, marketing scripts and embedded third-party services. 

• Help test integrations such as video embeds, regulatory/news feeds, share-price widgets, forms and API-driven content. 

• Escalate tracking, consent, accessibility or browser/device issues to the Senior Engineer or Principal Engineer. 

• Keep implementation notes updated so changes can be repeated consistently across sites. 

Migration & Modernisation Support 

• Assist with migration preparation, including content checks, environment comparison, page inventory, redirect testing and data validation. 

• Support the move from Acquia to a future hosting provider by helping with QA, release support and issue triage. 

• Contribute to reducing Site Studio dependency by helping rebuild or test components where needed. 

• Learn and apply modern development practices including Git workflows, Composer-based Drupal updates and CI/CD processes. 

• Support documentation and handover materials for new processes, components and environments. 

Collaboration & Documentation 

• Work closely with the Senior Engineer, Principal Engineer, Digital Platform Owner, BAs, designers and stakeholders. 

• Translate assigned requirements into clear development tasks and QA checks. 

• Maintain concise documentation for fixes, components, test cases and known issues. 

• Raise blockers early and contribute constructively to team problem-solving. 

• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and regular web team coordination. 

• Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly under senior guidance to support code explanation, debugging, documentation and learning, while ensuring all suggestions are checked against team standards before implementation.

Technical Skills

• Good web development fundamentals across HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and responsive design. 

• Working knowledge of PHP and willingness to deepen Drupal backend development skills. 

• Experience with Drupal site-building or another enterprise CMS; Drupal 9/10 experience is preferred but not mandatory for a strong candidate. 

• Ability to interpret Figma designs and translate them into accurate, accessible web components. 

• Experience using BrowserStack or similar browser/device testing tools. 

• Basic understanding of Git, pull requests, branching and release workflows. 

• Familiarity with Composer, CI/CD and cloud-hosted web environments is desirable. 

• Basic understanding of web accessibility, SEO hygiene, redirects, cache behaviour and performance testing. 

• Exposure to OneTrust, analytics tags, cookie consent workflows or third-party scripts is desirable. 

• Experience supporting migration, redesign, CMS upgrade or platform modernisation projects is desirable. 

• Awareness of AI-assisted development tools, or willingness to learn how to use them responsibly for coding support, debugging, documentation and QA.

Soft Skills

• Good communication skills and willingness to ask questions early. 

• Strong attention to detail, especially in QA, layout, responsive behaviour and content accuracy. 

• Collaborative, reliable and comfortable working as part of a distributed team. 

• Able to follow process, document work clearly and manage assigned tasks to deadlines. 

• Curious and proactive in learning Drupal, web governance and modern development practices. 

Desirable Experience / Competences

• Experience with Drupal 9/10 site-building, theming or support. 

• Experience with Figma, BrowserStack, OneTrust, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager or similar digital operations tools. 

• Exposure to Acquia, Pantheon, AWS, Vercel or other web hosting platforms. 

• Experience in corporate, regulated or multi-brand web environments. 

• Interest in accessibility, SEO, performance, testing automation or CMS migrations. 

• Interest in developing good habits around prompt writing, code review and responsible AI use as part of day-to-day web development.

• Willingness to build toward deeper Drupal engineering capability over time.
