WHAT YOU'LL DO IN THIS POSITION

BYU Law  is looking for a proactive professional to support our web content management, technical initiatives, and digital project planning. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys keeping information accurate, coordinating across teams, and making sure digital projects run smoothly from start to finish.

We especially encourage applications from individuals who may not consider themselves “tech experts” but are curious, conscientious, and motivated by helping others. We’ve found that people with life experience—particularly those returning to work, shifting careers, or looking for flexible part-time roles—often excel in this role. If you are good at listening, organizing, learning new tools, and seeing things through, we’d love to hear from you.

This position is on-site at the law school, with the potential for occasional remote work, depending on the project. Training and mentoring will be provided, especially for tools or systems you may not have used before. Ongoing learning is expected and supported — we know no one has every skill on day one.

Responsibilities:

Web Content Coordination

  • Review and monitor 35+ internal and public-facing web pages for accuracy and relevance.

  • Coordinate and implement requests for updates or new content from law school departments and faculty.

  • Document content requirements and route requests to internal or external web developers as needed.

  • Track progress on development and ensure timely completion of changes.

Digital and Technical Project Support

  • Assist with planning and monitoring digital library initiatives, including research data projects.

  • Help manage small-scale technical tasks, such as printing support, hardware inventory, and email/account setup.

  • Coordinate routine administrative IT tasks (“RATS”) to ensure smooth law school operations.

  • Work with the IT and library teams to identify needs, propose solutions, and monitor project milestones.

WHAT QUALIFIES YOU FOR THIS ROLE?

Required:

  • 1 year of working with people, helping them to achieve their goals, and recording progress.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to listen to and understand the needs of others.

  • Demonstrated ability to organize tasks, follow up on assignments, and manage multiple priorities.

  • Interest in learning new technologies and confidence to ask questions or seek training when needed.

  • Ability to write clearly and document needs, procedures, or progress for others.

  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in an academic environment.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree AND two or more years of related experience

  • Experience with website content editing tools (e.g., WordPress, Drupal, or CMS platforms).

  • Familiarity with project tracking tools (e.g., Trello, Asana, Microsoft Planner).

  • Prior experience in a library, higher education, or nonprofit setting.

  • Basic comfort with spreadsheets, file management, and email systems.

This position comes with fantastic benefits, including:

  • Employee assistance program, available to the employee and all members of their household

  • Access to the library

  • Free on-campus parking

  • Free UTA pass

  • Discounts at the BYU Store and for many events at BYU

Pay Grade: 49

Typical Starting Pay: $22.50 to $29.25 hourly

The actual compensation offered will take into consideration internal equity and may vary based on the candidate’s job-related experience, knowledge, skills, and other relevant factors.
